NBA executive evaluates Matas Buzelis: “He looks like the real deal”

Matas Buzelis, one of the most promising prospects for the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft, has been creating a buzz in the basketball world.

Making a non-traditional choice, the 18-year-old small forward opted to bypass college and inked a deal with the NBA G League Ignite, gearing up for his imminent NBA journey.

Buzelis recently made his debut with the Ignite, contributing significantly as they secured a convincing exhibition game victory over the Perth Wildcats with a final score of 124-105. In just 27 minutes of play, Buzelis showcased his skills, tallying 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists.

An NBA executive shared their perspective on Buzelis, emphasizing his all-around abilities. “When you watch the film on Buzelis, he looks like the real deal. He can pass, dribble, and shoot,” he said, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

“I think the big thing people are excited about is he played a lot of guard in high school. If you can make decisions and shoot at 6-foot-10, that’s a great player.”
