7 Minecraft Treehouse Ideas for Your Next Build

Treehouses in Minecraft provide a wonderful way of incorporating unique and cool designs into your home. Whether you’re just starting out and want some more niche house ideas to work from, or you’re a pro in Minecraft but want to think outside the box, we’ve got ideas and tips for you.

Minecraft Treehouses

There are two things to consider as you scroll through our favorite treehouse build concepts:

  • In order to dictate the size of your treehouse, it will depend if you’re working on your main hub or an addition to an existing build.
  • Furthermore, the biome you choose to build in will control the extent to which you can use naturally generated trees versus trees that you artificially create yourself.

That said, we’ve rounded up some of the best treehouse build ideas for Minecraft, from simple, starter tree houses to next-level designs and challenging builds, and everything in between.

1. Simple Treehouse

If you’re struggling with how to build a treehouse in Minecraft, just go basic to begin with. Find a tree that has a decent height (a nice clear view is a bonus), and attach a small four-walled house to it. Whether it’s actually in the air hanging from the tree or just on the ground adjacent, it doesn’t really matter!

You can expand up and out, even artificially increasing the height of the tree as you progress in the game. If you’re new to Minecraft or building this type of house, definitely start here.

2. Jungle Treehouse

In the biome that has the tallest trees, it only makes sense to use the real estate and build a shack high in the sky. The abundance of tightly-packed tall trees and hanging vines allow an easy method of interconnecting various small structures.

Not only do the vines that adorn a number of the trees in Jungle biomes act as a natural ladder, but you can also place them on the leaves all the way around the tree you’ve built upon to create some natural cover/camouflage.

If you’re in a multiplayer world with friends, this can be a particularly enjoyable, and accomplishable project, with individual houses creating a lovely Ewok-style village as the end result!

3. Leaf House

Can’t quite get your house to look right, clinging to the side of a tree? Think outside of the box and instead have your home base within the leaves of a tree. Using Shears to gather leaves from surrounding trees, you can create a bubble of leaves on top of those that are naturally generated on the trees.

Though this may limit your range of decoration and scope, this can prove to be the best way for your house to blend in with the surroundings.

Outside of a Leaf House in Minecraft

As a tip: turn your graphic settings from Fancy to Fast and the leaves will no longer be translucent, meaning any build beneath the leaves will be completely invisible.

4. A Literal Tree House

Literal Tree House in Minecraft

If you want to take things to the next level of weird and unique, drop the chore of looking for the perfect tree to call home and instead make your own. Whilst somewhat inefficient in terms of resource usage, it can be a fun build to try and structure your house so it replicates the shape and looks of a tree, albeit slightly wider and larger than its brethren.

5. Nether Tree House

With the Nether gaining forest biomes as of late, you can take advantage of the new leafy real estate to build a home up high in the deep down below. Using blocks exclusive to the Nether, like Crimson Blocks and Netherrack can help your build feel more at home amongst its surroundings, but also means you might lose it as it blends in more and more.

Nether Tree House in Minecraft

There are threats abound in the Nether, so if you have access to a surplus of Obsidian, it might be worth building your house (or the outer shell at the very least) with it. That way, any Ghast fireballs that stray near your build, the damage will be drastically reduced.

6. Tree Root House

Want to get a little unconventional? Head underground with some Stripped Logs, and build out some tree roots. Using the roots, you can hang a house from the ceiling of a cavern.

Incorporate some Pointed Dripstone, Spore Blossom and Glow Lichen to give it a natural, overgrown look and your humble underground abode will be complete.

7. Bonus: Make a Tree House for Every Tree Type

If you’re up for it, you can also challenge yourself to make a tree house for every Minecraft tree type in the game. We’re talking all of them; Oak, Spruce, Birch, Dark Oak and Jungle!

God of War: Ragnarok Info Will be Shared ‘at the Earliest Possible Moment,” Cory Barlog Says

One of the biggest rumors heading into the week was potential information surrounding God of War: Ragnarok, possibly even a release date. But with June almost over and no mention of the next God of War game, Santa Monica Studio’s Cory Barlog is asking fans to keep the faith.

“If it were up to me I would share all the information hen I know about it. But it is not up to me,” Barlog tweeted. “So please, be patient.”

Barlog also added that information “will be shared at the earliest possible moment they can be,” meaning any information, or lack of is for a reason.

For the past week, there have been rumors that there will be some kind of announcement for God of War Ragnarok on June 30 after reports from Bloomberg suggested Ragnarok is slated for a November 2022 launch.

But without any announcement, it looks like God of War Ragnarok could skip June altogether, though there are rumblings that any news could be surprise dropped tomorrow.

Update: Cory Barlog has followed up his earlier post and made clear to a fan that God of War: Ragnarok has not been delayed out of 2022.

Bradley Beal Set to Hit Free Agent Market After Declining Player Option

Bradley Beal is set to hit the free-agent market for the first time in his career after declining his player option for next season, per his agent.

Beal averaged 23.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and a career-high 6.6 assists per game last season before undergoing season-ending wrist surgery in February. Beal is eligible to sign a five-year max if he decides to return to Washington. The three-time All-Star can sign to another team on a four-year deal otherwise.

Beal has said in the past that his free-agent plans will depend on whether he thinks the Wizards can be a winner while he’s there. He recently refuted reports that he planned on leaving.

However, During the regular-season, Beal embraced “holding the cards” and being able to dictate the tone of how his extension talks were going. He has historically remained mum on his decision and, as recently as two weeks ago, said he knew what he wanted to do while making an appearance at a court refurbishment in D.C. he helped fund.

B.A4 and BA.5 variants spur 20 per cent rise in cases — Global Issues

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stressed in his weekly briefing to journalists that the global figure overall remains “relatively stable”, but nobody should be under any illusion, that the coronavirus is on the way out.

“This pandemic is changing but it’s not over. We have made progress but it’s not over.

Act together

Only with concerted action by governments, international agencies and the private sector can we solve the converging challenges”, said the WHO chief.

He warned that our ability to track the virus is under threat as reporting and genomic sequences are declining. The optimistic mid-year deadline for all countries to vaccinate at least 70 per cent of their populations is looking unlikely, with the average rate in low-income countries, standing at 13 per cent.

On the bright side, in the past 18 months, more than 12 billion vaccines have been distributed around the world, and 75 percent of the world’s health workers and over-60s are now vaccinated.

20 million lives saved by shots

The influential Lancet medical journal, estimates that 20 million lives have been saved because of vaccines, said Tedros.

Last year, it was the hoarding of vaccines by rich and manufacturing countries which proved to be the major barrier to access, but this year, it’s what he described as the wavering “political commitment to getting vaccines out to people – and challenges of disinformation”, which are thwarting the pace of inoculations at the national level.

He called for all at-risk groups, to be vaccinated and boosted, as soon as possible.

“For the general population, it also makes sense to keep strengthening that wall of immunity, which helps lessen the severity of the disease and lowers the risk of long- or post-COVID condition.”

He said continuing ‘mild’ cases are disruptive and damaging, keeping children out of school and adults from their jobs, “which causes further economic and supply chain disruption.”

He said the goal of 70 per cent coverage was still desirable, based on the principle that if we don’t share vaccines equitably, “then we undercut the philosophy that all lives have equal worth.”

Second generation vaccines

Tedros said that it was critical for funding to be secured for “second generation vaccines”, as well as testing and treatments.

“The ideal solution would be the development of a pan-coronavirus vaccine that covers all the variants so far and potentially future ones”, the WHO chief declared.

“This is feasible, WHO continues to convene scientists and researchers and there has been a lot of research into this virus and understanding immunology overall.”

New global trials

He said through the agency’s Solidarity Trials, global trials of new vaccines could take place to rapidly establish their safety and efficacy.

“Now is the time”, he concluded, for government health departments to integrate tests and anti-virals into clinical care, so that people that are sick can be treated quickly.

“With new variants of concern likely – genomic sequencing remains critical. I also call for accelerated efforts and incentives to be developed around the moonshot of developing a pan-coronavirus vaccine.”

The Power in My Voice: Sheryl Swoopes Builds on the Vision of Title IX

It’s hard for me to imagine my life without sports. I don’t usually think about how or why I was able to play sports and that luxury is because Title IX played such a huge role in my life, much like the role it will play in those who will play long after me. It’s all because of Title IX that we have been able to largely focus on perfecting our game instead of fighting for the right to play in the first place. Not only do we not talk about that enough, but we also don’t talk about how to build on that vision when it comes to women in professional sports.

One of the biggest areas women are getting shortchanged in today is pregnancy policies. Female athletes have a far different experience when it comes to parenthood than their male counterparts. I was a mom playing ball, so I know first hand—from taking maternity leave, to dealing with the mental part of being a mom, to physically taking care of a child, to coming back from pregnancy. There are so many different layers to being a mom and a professional athlete, that I don’t even think people truly understand.

All of these layers can conspire to keep truly talented athletes out of the game or prevent them from reaching their peak potential. It is here where I believe the original vision of Title IX needs to move forward into today’s realities. Now, we have generations of highly qualified female athletes who are playing at the pro level. The next step toward equality is to create policies that ensure their rights and passions are protected throughout pregnancy and motherhood.

When I became a mom, my mindset immediately went from being this great athlete and competing on the court to determining: how do I become a great mom? How do I take care of my family? When is it time to come back and be that athlete again? Finding balance and the right support system was not easy.

Several weeks after I gave birth, I was back out on the court. But that’s because I was determined to be. Even with my innate motivation, there were many struggles. I didn’t know how to balance motherhood and being an athlete. I felt guilty for leaving my child. I had gained 50 to 60 pounds. I wasn’t even sure if I would be able to come back from it.

I was watching the NBA playoffs recently, and the announcer noted that one of the players was absent in order to be at the birth of his child. He was expected to return the next game. For many women, the birth of a child is a career killer. But, it doesn’t have to be that way.

I had the pleasure of doing color commentating for Athletes Unlimited in February, and with what they offer as far as help, it was such a family environment. They said bring your kids, even if you have ten! You’re also talking about two men (the co-founders of Athletes Unlimited) that recognize that women need another professional league, there were so many great players getting waived in the WNBA. These two men wanted to give these women what they deserve.

As a woman who grew up with Title IX in place and equal participation in sports being my expectation, I have carried that same set of standards with me into the professional world. It is here where we still need to fight and where the legacy of Title IX will continue to build.

I hope we channel the heart of Title IX and find solutions for every female athlete who is struggling with her career and motherhood.

US govt delays enforcement of crypto broker reporting requirements: Report

The provision in the U.S. infrastructure bill signed into law in November, which will require financial institutions and crypto brokers to report additional information, could reportedly be delayed.

According to a Wednesday report from Bloomberg, the United States Department of the Treasury and Internal Revenue Service may not be willing to enforce crypto brokers collecting information on certain transactions starting in January 2023, citing people familiar with the matter. The potential delay could reportedly affect billions of dollars related to capital gains taxes — the Biden administration’s budget for the government for the 2023 fiscal year previously estimated modifying the crypto tax rules could reduce the deficit by roughly $11 billion.

Under the current infrastructure bill, Section 6050I mandates that crypto brokers handling digital asset transactions worth more than $10,000 report them to the Internal Revenue Service with personal information likely including the sender’s name, date of birth and social security number. The requirements, aimed at reducing the size of the tax gap, were scheduled to take effect in January 2023, with companies sending reports to the IRS starting in 2024.

“Delaying is smart,” said Jake Chervinsky, head of policy at the Blockchain Association, in response to the news. “We’re getting closer & closer to the effective date of the infrastructure bill’s tax provisions & we’re still waiting for guidance or rulemaking on implementation.”

Related: Crypto miners exempt from IRS reporting rules, US Treasury affirms

Since the passage of the $1 trillion infrastructure bill, many industry experts and lawmakers have suggested the crypto broker reporting requirements are overly broad, placing an undue burden on individuals who may not have the necessary information on transactions. In June, crypto and blockchain advocacy group Coin Center filed a lawsuit against the Treasury Department, alleging the tax reporting requirement could “impose a mass surveillance regime on ordinary Americans.”
