With a circular AMOLED display on the outer cover measuring 1.32 inches, the Phantom V Flip 5G features a 6.9-inch full-HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) flexible AMOLED main display when unfolded. It offers a peak brightness of 1000 nits. The cover display comes with an Always-On display feature and also houses the rear camera unit. It will also display the messages received on the smartphone, when folded. 

The company’s second foldable is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 SoC paired with Arm Mali-G77 GPU. It packs 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, which can virtually extendable up to 16GB, along with 256GB of UFS 3.1 inbuilt storage. The Phantom V Flip runs Android 13.5 OS. Tecno is offering OS updates for two years and three years of security patches on the phone from the date of release.

For optics, the cover panel gets a rear camera unit, which sports a 64-megapixel primary sensor and a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens. There are four Flashlights. Meanwhile, for selfies, the inner display houses the front camera that is placed at the top-centre within a hole-punch slot. It gets a 32-megapixel sensor. The Phantom V Flip 5G is backed by a 4,000mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging support. For connectivity, it gets 5G, Wi-Fi 6, NFC and Bluetooth 5.1 support.

Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G was unveiled on Friday and has also launched for India market. This is the second foldable smartphone by the company. The first foldable from the company, the Tecno Phantom V Fold was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2023 event in Barcelona earlier this year and later released in India in April. The Phantom V Flip clamshell foldable, details about which have previously been tipped extensively, is now available in two colour options. The handset comes with a circular outer display with the rear camera unit encircling it.

Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G is offered in Iconic Black and Mystic Dawn colour options. The singular 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option of the handset is available in India at an early bird price of Rs. 49,999. The foldable will be available for purchase starting 12PM IST on October 1 on Amazon. The phone will soon be offered in other countries too, the company confirmed.

Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G is confirmed to debut in Singapore on September 22. Just days ahead of the formal debut, Tecno has started accepting pre-reservations for the upcoming phone in Nigeria via mobile carrier MTN. Multiple leaks over the past few weeks have already suggested quite a lot about Tecno’s first clamshell foldable smartphone and most recently, a hands-on video of the Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G has surfaced online. The video indicates the design of the upcoming flip phone. It is shown with a circular-shaped cover display and dual rear camera setup. Additionally, the India pricing of the device has also leaked on the Web.

As per a poster shared by Tecno on X, the company has started accepting pre-reservations for the Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G through MTN in Nigeria. The smartphone is confirmed to be available in at least two colour options. Interested customers can pay NGN 1,00,000 (roughly Rs. 10,730) to pre-book the handset. MTN is providing two signature perfumes and 70GB of free data for customers placing the order. This deal is valid until September 27.

The Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G is speculated to be priced at NGN 5,49,000 (Rs.58,000) for the 256GB storage option in Nigeria. Meanwhile, tipster Paras Guglani (@passionategeekz) claims that the handset will be priced between Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 55,000 in India. 

Additionally, MySmartPrice has published an alleged hands-on video of the Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G. The video indicates a circular cover display for quickly checking the notifications and accessing the camera among others. The cover display sits inside the camera island and two camera sensors and an LED flash are seen arranged around the cover display. The power key is placed on the right side and it is expected to double as a fingerprint scanner. The volume up and down buttons are also seen placed on the right side.

These design elements corroborate with what we’ve seen in older render leaks. The video suggests a design language similar to that of the ongoing Galaxy Z Flip 5, Oppo Find N2 Flip, and Moto Razr 40. However, it is worth taking these details with a pinch of salt.

The launch of Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G is scheduled to take place in Singapore on September 22 at 3:30pm SGT (12:30pm IST). It will go on sale via Amazon in India.

Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G is likely to launch soon. The purported clamshell foldable is expected to follow the book style foldable Tecno Phantom V Fold, which was released earlier this year in April and unveiled in February at the Mobile World Congress 2023 in Barcelona, Spain. The Phantom V Fold was the Tecno’s first foldable smartphone. Meanwhile, the Phantom V Flip has been reportedly spotted on certifications sites hinting at its imminent launch. Now, a new report has leaked the design renders, colour options, and key specifications of the smartphone.  

A Newzonly report citing tipster Paras Guglani (@passionategeekz) has leaked the design renders of the Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G. As per the images shared, the foldable phone is seen with a ring-like circular rear camera module that appears to be enclosing the cover display. The dual rear camera unit is accompanied by an LED flash unit.

The upcoming clamshell foldable smartphone is expected to launch in Film White, Minimal Black, and Periwinkle Purple colour options. The report suggests that the Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G is expected to launch by October this year, with its first teaser likely to be released in September.
