Tecno Camon 30 5G series — comprising the Tecno Camon 30 5G and Camon 30 5G — was launched in India on Saturday. The latest handsets from the company are equipped with MediaTek Dimensity chips, and run on HiOS 14 based on Android 14 out-of-the-box. Tecno Camon 30 5G price in India starts at Rs. 22,999 for the 8GB+256GB RAM and storage configuration, while the handset will also be sold in a 12GB+256GB memory variant that is priced at Rs. 26,999. Meanwhile the Camon 30 Premier 5G price in India is set at Rs. 39,999, for the sole 12GB+512GB storage model.

Both smartphones will be available for purchase in India starting on May 23. Customers will be able to avail of a Rs. 3,000 instant bank discount on the Tecno Camon 30 5 and Camon 30 Premier 5G, according to the company.

Tecno Camon 30 5G, Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G specifications

Both the Tecno Camon 30 5G and Camon 30 5G are dual-SIM smartphones that run on Android 14-based HiOS 14. The standard model sports a 6.78-inch (1,080×2,436 pixels) full-HD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and is powered by a 6nm Dimensity 7020 chip. Meanwhile the Premier model has a 6.77-inch (1,264×2,7800 pixels) 1.5K LTPO AMOLED screen that also refreshes at 120Hz, and features a 4nm Dimensity 8200 Ultimate chip.

For photos and videos, both handsets in the Camon 30 5G series are equipped with a 50-megapixel primary camera. While the standard model has a 2-megapixel depth sensor, the Camon 30 Premier 5G features a 50-megapixel telephoto camera (3x optical), and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle cameras. On the front, both models have a 50-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

You get 256GB of storage on the Tecno Camon 30 5G, while the Camon 30 Premier 5G offers double the amount of storage. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, GNSS, and a USB Type-C  port. Sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, proximity. The phones are equipped with an IR blaster to control compatible appliances and electronics, while an in-display fingerprint scanner brings support for biometric authentication.

Tecno Camon 30 Series to 2 Major Android Update, 3 Years of Security Upgrades

Tecno Camon 30 series was globally unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in February this year. The lineup later launched in select markets across the world. It is also set to be introduced in India soon. The series includes four variants – the Tecno Camon 30 4G, the Tecno Camon 30 5G, the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G, and the Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G. The company has now detailed the software support these handsets will receive.

Tecno announced via social media posts that the Tecno Camon 30 series smartphones will get 2 major Android upgrades up to Android 16 and 36 months (or three years) of security patches. Notably, the Tecno Camon 30 handsets run Android 14-based HiOS 14 out-of-the-box. 

Meanwhile, the Tecno Camon 30 5G series is confirmed to come to India soon. An Amazon microsite went live recently teasing details about the upcoming handsets. The company will introduce two variants in the country – the Tecno Camon 30 5G and the Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G.

The exact launch date of the Tecno Camon 30 5G series in India is yet to be confirmed. The smartphones are confirmed to be equipped with Sony Lytia cameras. They have also been teased in a black vegan leather option and a white colourway.

Indian variants of the Tecno Camon 30 5G and the Camon 30 Premier 5G are expected to be similar to their global variants. They are likely to come with the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC and MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset, respectively. They could carry 5,000mAh batteries with support for up to 70W wired fast charging.

For optics, the Tecno Camon 30 5G may come with a 50-megapixel primary sensor alongside a 2-megapixel depth sensor at the back. The Premier variant is likely to feature a 50-megapixel primary rear sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), another 50-megapixel sensor with up to 3x optical zoom, and a third 50-megapixel sensor paired with an ultra-wide-angle lens. Both models are expected to get 50-megapixel selfie cameras.

Tecno Camon 30 Series India Launch Officially Teased; Confirmed to Feature Sony Cameras

Tecno Camon 30 series will be unveiled in India soon. The company has confirmed the launch of the lineup in the country. However, Tecno has not revealed which models will see an India launch. The series includes four models – Tecno Camon 30, Camon 30 5G, Camon 30 Pro 5G, and Camon 30 Premier 5G. The phones were globally unveiled in February this year at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024. Later on, the base and Pro variants were also introduced in Nigeria.

Now, Tecno Mobile India has announced the launch of the Tecno Camon 30 series in India via a post on X without revealing a launch date. The video attached to the post confirms that the phones will be equipped with Sony Lytia cameras. Another teaser on the social media handle teased one of the upcoming models in a black vegan leather option. 

The design of the Tecno Camon 30 series model seen in the teaser shows that the India variant of the handsets will be similar to their global counterparts. They are expected to share similar specifications. The phones could be unveiled in the country this month and we are likely to learn more about them closer to the launch.

Tecno Camon 30 4G is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, while the 5G version carries a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC. The Camon 30 Pro 5G and the high-end Camon 30 Premier 5G models come with MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC. They are backed by 5,000mAh batteries and support up to 70W wired fast charging.

For optics, both 4G and 5G variants of the Tecno Camon 30 include a 50-megapixel primary sensor alongside a 2-megapixel depth sensor with dual rear flash units. The Tecno Camon Pro 5G, on the other hand, features a 1/1.56-inch 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support, a 50-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

The top-of-the-line Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G is equipped with a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), another 50-megapixel sensor with up to 3x optical zoom, and a third 50-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens alongside a quad flash unit. All models carry 50-megapixel front cameras.
