Samsung Galaxy S23 FE TENAA Listing Hints at Model Design, Specifications

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is expected to launch soon. The handset is expected to succeed the Galaxy S21 FE as a Fan Edition model of the Galaxy S23 series, which was released in February with a base, a plus and an ultra model. The FE model is said to come with some of the best features of the latest Galaxy S-series lineup. Details about the purported handset have been doing rounds of the rumour mills recently. A new report states that the phone was spotted on the TENAA website hinting at its imminent launch and suggesting some key specifications and design.

A MyFixGuide report spotted the Galaxy S23 FE on the TENAA certification site. Images found on the site show the phone in a black colour variant with a similar design language as its predecessor. The three camera units of the handset could be seen vertically arranged in three separate circular units in the top left corner of the back panel. The front camera slot is placed as a centre-aligned hole-punch unit at the top of the display.

The listing showed that the Galaxy S23 FE is likely to sport a 6.3-inch display with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The phone is expected to be powered by either a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset or an Exynos 2200 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM. It could launch in storage variants of either 128GB or 256GB. It is likely to ship with Android 13-based One UI 5.1.

The triple rear camera unit of the Galaxy S23 FE is said to include a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel sensor and an 8-megapixel sensor. The front camera could come with a 10-megapixel sensor. The phone is expected to pack a 4,370mAh battery with 25W wired fast charging support. The handset is likely to measure 158.0mm x 76.5mm x 8.2mm and weigh around 210 grams.

A previous report suggested that the Galaxy S23 FE will debut alongside the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and other FE products in Q4 2023. It has also been tipped to be priced at under Rs. 60,000 in India. The 128GB and 256GB storage variants of the handset are said to be listed at Rs. 54,999 and Rs. 59,999, respectively.

Samsung Galaxy Z FE Affordable Lineup Rumoured to Launch Next Year After Galaxy Z Fold 6

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 were released during the company’s Galaxy Unpacked event last month. As competition in the foldable smartphone is heating up with new entrants such as Google’s Pixel Fold, Motorola Razr+, and Xiaomi’s Mix Fold 3, incumbent market leader Samsung is reportedly looking to unveil foldable phones with affordable price tags starting next year. A tipster has suggested that Samsung plans to unveil a cheaper Galaxy Z foldable phone called the Galaxy Z FE (Fan Edition). The South Korean tech company is rumoured to release Fan Edition versions of the foldable phone after the release of Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 next year.

Tipster Revegnus (@Tech_Reve) on X (formerly Twitter) claimed that Samsung is planning to unveil Fan Edition versions of the foldable phones starting next year. Samsung is said to unveil the Galaxy Z FE model after the debut of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 next year.

According to the tipster, the Galaxy S23 FE — the toned-down version of the Galaxy S23 — is expected to launch soon. Once it goes official, the company might announce more Fan Edition products consistently every year.

Samsung has been dominating the market for foldable smartphones for several years now. The company has released five iterations of its Galaxy Z Fold flagships, most recently the Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5. The foldable phone space is now entering a competitive phase with companies like Google, Motorola, Oppo, and Xiaomi challenging Samsung’s position with the release of new foldables. The latest Galaxy Z foldable phones will go up against the likes of Pixel Fold, Huawei’s Mate X3, Motorola Razr+, Xiaomi’s Mix Fold 3, and Oppo’s Find N2.

The price of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 starts at Rs. 1,54,999 in India for the 256GB storage variant. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 costs Rs. 99,999 for the 256GB storage model.

Both the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 handsets are powered by Qualcomm’s custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy and feature a new Flex Hinge. They run on One UI 5.1.1 based on Android 13 and have an IPX8 rating for water resistance.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE With Exynos 2200 SoC Spotted on Geekbench: Report

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is expected to launch soon. It is the Fan Edition model of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series and is said to succeed the Galaxy S21 FE, which was released in January 2021 — the South Korean tech giant skipped the Galaxy S22 FE model. Reportedly, the company may also relaunch the Galaxy S21 FE in India with a different chipset. A new report suggests that a Geekbench listing of the upcoming Galaxy S23 FE shows some key specifications of the purported handset.

According to a SamMobile report, the Galaxy S23 F3 model showed up on Geekbench on Thursday. The listing suggested that the phone will be powered by an in-house octa-core Exynos 2200 SoC, the same chipset used in the Galaxy S22 series models. All of the Galaxy S23 phones, including the base Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and the Galaxy S23 Ultra, used Qualcomm’s latest and fastest yet Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

It is speculated that the company’s move to replace the Qualcomm chipset may actually just be to clear stock of the Exynos SoCs. Notably, the rumoured shift had been reported previously, so it does not come as a complete surprise.

The Geekbench listing adds that the phone with the model number SM-S711B will launch with 8GB of RAM and run Android 13 out-of-the-box, with likely a One UI skin on top. The phone has also been tipped to carry a 4,500mAh battery, since it was found listed on the Safety Korea battery certification website.

An earlier leak tipped that the Exynos chipset will be paired with an Xclipse 920 AMD GPU along with up to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 inbuilt storage. The same leak added that although certain markets may see the Galaxy S23 FE model launch as late as Q4 2023, most regions are expected to see the model released by the third quarter of the year.

The phone has also been tipped to feature a 6.4-inch flat display with a likely centre-aligned hole-punch slot for the front camera, which could sport a 12-megapixel sensor. The body is expected to have rounded corners. Its design has been said to resemble that of the Galaxy A54 5G model released earlier this year.

Much like the rest of the Galaxy S23 series models, the Fan Edition version is also expected to come with a triple rear camera unit which could include a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and an 8-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens.

From the Nothing Phone 2 to the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, several new smartphones are expected to make their debut in July. We discuss all of the most exciting smartphones coming this month and more on the latest episode of Orbital, the Gadgets 360 podcast. Orbital is available on Spotify, Gaana, JioSaavn, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music and wherever you get your podcasts.
