Realme 12X 5G to Be Priced Under Rs. 12,000 in India, Teased to Offer 45W SuperVOOC Charging

Realme 12X 5G is all set to hit the Indian market on April 2. Just a week ahead of the formal debut, Realme has revealed the price range and hardware details of the new Realme 12 series smartphone. The Realme 12X 5G is confirmed to offer 45W SuperVOOC fast charging. It will feature a full-HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate. It is also teased to run on MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC. The Realme 12X was initially unveiled in the Chinese market on March 21.

Through a press release, the Chinese smartphone maker announced that the Realme 12X 5G will be priced under Rs. 12,000 in India. It will also support 45W SuperVOOC fast charging.The handset is confirmed to feature a 6.72-inch full-HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate and 950 nits of peak brightness. It is teased to pack dual speakers and 7.69mm thickness. The phone is said to be the first 5G phone in the sub-Rs. 12,000 price segment to offer a 45W fast charging feature and dual speakers.

Like the Chinese variant, the Indian variant of the Realme 12X 5G is also confirmed to run on a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ 5G chipset with VC cooling. It will have a dual rear camera system headlined by a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an IP54-certified build. The handset will offer an Air Gesture feature that will let users to navigate through phone without physical contact.

Realme has already announced that the Realme 12X 5G will launch in India on April 2 at 12pm IST. It is confirmed to go on sale via Flipkart and the Realme India website. A dedicated microsite on the e-commerce website and the company’s India website are teasing the specifications of the Realme 12X 5G ahead of launch.

The Realme 12X was unveiled in China earlier this month with a price tag of CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs. 16,000) for the base 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. Realme introduced the Realme 12+ 5G and the Realme 12 5G in India earlier this month with a price tag of Rs. 20,999 and Rs. 16,999, respectively. The former runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 5G chipset, while the vanilla Realme 12 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ 5G SoC under the hood.

Realme 12+ 5G With MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC, 67W SuperVOOC Charging Launched: Price, Specifications

Realme 12+ 5G has been unveiled in Malaysia and Indonesia ahead of its arrival in India. The handset comes with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity chipset, a full-HD+ OLED screen, and a triple rear camera unit. The model is available in two colour options and ships with an Android 14-based UI. The phone is confirmed to launch in India on March 6 alongside the Realme 12 5G. These models are set to join the other Realme 12 series handsets that were introduced earlier this year – the Realme 12 Pro 5G and the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G.

Offered in Navigator Beige and Pioneer Green colour options, the Realme 12+ 5G is priced in Indonesia at IDR 41,99,000 (roughly Rs. 22,200) for the 8GB + 256GB configuration. In Malaysia, the handset is listed at MYR 1,499 (roughly Rs. 26,200) for the 12GB + 256GB variant.

Realme 12+ 5G specifications

The Realme 12+ 5G features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, up to 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 2,000 nits peak brightness level. It also gets Rainwater Smart Touch support that is said to help users use the phone in the rain as well as with wet or damp hands.

Realme’s new phone powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC paired with an ARM Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The RAM is virtually expandable to up to an additional 12GB. The phone runs Android 14-based Realme UI 5.0 out-of-the-box.

For optics, the triple rear camera system of the Realme 12+ 5G carries a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support, alongside an 8-megapixel sensor paired with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. The front camera, on the other hand, carries a 16-megapixel AI-backed sensor.

Realme also packs a 5,000mAh battery into the Realme 12+ 5G with support for 67W SuperVOOC charging. For security, the phone is equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor. It also supports 5G, GPS, Glonass, Beidou, Galileo, QZSS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB Type-C connectivity. The handset weighs about 190g and measures 162.95mm x 75.45mm x 7.87mm in size.

Realme 12+ 5G Launch Date, Design, Colourways Confirmed; India Launch Officially Teased

Realme 12+ 5G has been confirmed to be unveiled soon. The Chinese manufacturer has announced the launch date of the smartphone in Malaysia, where it will also debut the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G. Ahead of the launch, the design and colour options of the Realme 12+ 5G has been revealed. Separately, Realme has also teased the launch of the handset in the Indian market, where it is likely to arrive soon. It’s worth noting that the Realme 12 Pro 5G and Realme 12 Pro+ 5G were introduced in India last month. Now, the company looks set to bring the Realme 12+ 5G to the family in the country. Realme is also expected to launch a vanilla Realme 12 5G model, but there’s no official word on it yet.

Realme Malaysia confirmed in a Facebook post that the Realme 12+ 5G will be launched in the country, alongside the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G on February 29. The phones will be available for preorders in Malaysia from February 16 to February 29. The Realme 12+ 5G model is teased in a beige and a green colourway, in a design similar to the Realme 12 Pro models, which were revealed in India earlier this year.

Simultaneously, a microsite for the Realme 12+ 5G has gone live on the company’s Indian website. The page does not spell out the moniker but confirms “One More Plus” model, hinting at the Realme 12+ 5G model. A green faux leather finish is also teased alongside “unseen 12 upgrades.”

Realme 12+ 5G Spotted on Geekbench; May Get a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC

Realme 12+ 5G may launch soon as the phone has surfaced online. The company is also expected to launch the Realme 12 5G soon but we do not know much about it yet. However, the Realme 12+ 5G has previously been spotted on several certification sites that have hinted at its key features. The leaks have suggested the phone’s design and a few other specifications. Now, the phone has been spotted on a benchmarking website that suggests its processor details.

The Realme 12+ 5G with the model number RMX3867 has been listed (first spotted by Nashville Chatter) on Geekbench. The phone was previously also spotted on India’s BIS website with the same model number. In the Geekbench listing, the handset is seen with an octa-core chipset with the codename MT6877V/TTZA, which suggests that it is the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC, also found on the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro models. The variant seen on the listing is likely the 12GB RAM option.

Previously the Realme 12+ 5G was spotted on the TENAA certification site which suggested that the phone may feature a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) AMOLED screen and have a centred hole-punch slot at the top to house the front camera sensor. It has also been tipped to come with RAM options of 6GB, 8GB, 12GB, and 16GB. These are expected to be paired with inbuilt storage options of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. 

The Realme 12+ 5G is also expected to be equipped with a triple rear camera system including a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. For selfies and video calls, the handset may carry a 16-megapixel front camera. The global variant of the handset, however, has been tipped to get a dual rear camera unit with a 64-megapixel primary sensor alongside an 8-megapixel sensor.

Realme 12+ 5G designs have also surfaced online via an earlier listing suggesting that it may feature a similarly large, circular rear camera module as seen on the Realme 12 Pro series, which were launched in India in January. The Realme 12+ 5G could be listed with a 5,000mAh battery with a rated capacity of 4,880mAh. The handset is likely to measure 162.95mm x 75.45mm x 7.87mm in size and weigh 190g.

Realme 12 Pro+ 5G With a Transparent Back Panel Teased to Launch Soon

Realme recently introduced two new models in India – the Realme 12 Pro 5G and the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G. The lower-end Realme 12 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, while the Pro+ model comes with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset. While the company did not share any details or teaser images of a device in the post, it invited other users to guess what the update was about.

It has been speculated that the update post could be alluding to the upcoming launch of the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+. The two phones were recently spotted on the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) website, suggesting an imminent launch. The Realme 12 series handsets were reportedly listed on the TDRA website with model numbers RMX3842 and RMX3840, respectively. The listing confirmed the monikers for the smartphones and indicated 5G connectivity on the handsets.
