OnePlus Ace 2 Pro Confirmed to Get Wi-Fi 7 Connectivity, Sony IMX890 Sensor Ahead of Launch

In an official Weibo post, OnePlus confirmed that the Ace 2 Pro will feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary rear camera sensor that will support optical image stabilisation (OIS). It will also be equipped with a ProXDR feature, which is expected to improve colour contrasts and offer more realistic image outputs.

The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is teased to support Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. The company notes that the phone will come with n28 and n8 5G modems, which are said to enhance the signal reception capacity of the handset. It claims to offer connection stability, lower latency, and four times better performance than the Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.

In an earlier post, OnePlus confirmed that Ace 2 Pro will arrive with 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 inbuilt storage paired alongside an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The phone is confirmed to have a Bionic vibrating motor and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Equipped with a 6.74-inch OLED 1.5K (1,240×2,772 pixels), the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will come with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a pixel density of 450ppi, a peak brightness level of 1,600 nits and a PWM dimming rate of 2160Hz. The display will also arrive with a new “Rain Touch” technology, which will help the phone respond to touch inputs in the rain.

The phone is also confirmed to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 150W wired SuperVOOC fast charging, which claims to offer up to 1,600 charging cycles or durability of up to 4 years. The charging solution is supposed to charge the battery from 1 percent to 100 percent in 17 minutes.

The display will get a hole punch cutout in the centre to house the selfie shooter. It will run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and come equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 150W SuperVOOC charging.

The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is likely to succeed the OnePlus Ace Pro that debuted last year.

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro’s AnTuTu Benchmark Score Hints at Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 24GB RAM

As per the listing, the phone’s CPU has one high-performance core with a maximum clock speed of 3.2GHz, four cores capped at 2.8GHz and three cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.02GHz. These specifications are associated with the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

Based on the listing, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will pack 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. In the CPU test of AnTuTu, the smartphone scored 4,56,555 points and it received 6,13,916 points as GPU score. The MEM score is 3,63,631 points whereas the UX score is 2,99,601 points. The listing also suggests Android 13 operating system running on the handset.

OnePlus started teasing the arrival of the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro in China last week. It is confirmed to go official in August. It is teased to come with a Tiangong 3D cooling system with a large surface area.

As per a recent leak, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro could feature a 6.74-inch display with curved edges. The display is said to offer 1.5K resolution and 1440Hz Pulse Width Modulation(PWM) frequency. It is tipped to pack a 5,000mAh battery and could offer 100W fast charging support.

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro Launch Set For August; To Get World’s First Aerospace-Grade 3D Tiangong Cooling System

The official Weibo handle of OnePlus confirmed in a post that the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will launch in China in August. It added that the phone will come with a Tiangong cooling system, which claims to be the first “aerospace-grade diamond thermally conductive gel and aerospace-grade superconducting thermal graphite” 3D cooling system. The company claimed that it will be the most powerful VC in the industry currently. It is also said to improve the overall performance of the smartphone.

A recent Geekbench listing suggested that the phone could be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with up to 16GB of RAM and run Android 13-based ColorOS out-of-the-box. An earlier report said that the phone is expected to be equipped with a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64M primary sensor, an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 sensor with an ultra-wide camera lens, and a 2-megapixel GalaxyCore GC02M sensor with a macro lens.

Available in Glacier Blue and Vast Black colour options, the base OnePlus Ace 2 model starts at CNY 2799 (roughly Rs. 34,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, while the 16GB RAM + 256GB storage and 16GB RAM + 512GB storage options of the phone are listed at CNY 3099 (roughly Rs. 37,800) and CNY 3499 (roughly Rs. 42,600), respectively.
