iQoo TWS Air Pro earbuds were launched in China on Tuesday alongside the iQoo Neo 8 series. The new TWS wearables from the Chinese brand have an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. They are claimed to offer up to 30 hours of playback with the charging case. The earphones are slated to go on sale on May 31 via the Vivo’s Chinese store. The newly announced iQoo TWS Air Pro have an in-ear design. The earbuds feature 14.2mm drivers with the company’s DeepX 2.0 stereo effect, and have a frequency response range of 20-20,000Hz. The company has included support for Bluetooth v5.3 connectivity along with audio codecs like AAC and SBC.

The earbuds also feature adaptive active noise cancellation as well as dual microphone AI call noise reduction, and a DNN algorithm to offer clear sound, according to iQoo.

The iQoo TWS Air Pro earbuds are claimed to offer up to 30 hours of playback time with the charging case. The iQoo TWS Air Pro charging case is powered by a 420mAh battery whereas each bud packs a 29mAh battery. The case sports a USB Type-C port for charging. Other features include an 88ms “ultra-low latency” mode for gaming and an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

iQoo Neo 8 series was launched in China on Tuesday. The series includes the base iQoo Neo 8 and the iQoo Neo 8 Pro variants. The handsets are offered in three colour variants. The smartphones sport 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED displays with 144Hz refresh rate. They run Android 13 OS with Origin OS 3.0 on top. The phones are backed by 5,000mAh batteries that offer 120W fast charging support. Both handsets also support 5G and get Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.

The base 12GB + 256GB variant of the iQoo Neo 8 is priced at CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 29,300). Meanwhile, the 12GB + 512GB and the 16GB + 512GB variants are marked at CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs. 32,800) and CNY 3,099 (roughly Rs. 36,400), respectively. 

On the other hand, the 16GB + 256GB and the 16GB + 512GB variants of the iQoo Neo 8 Pro have a market price of CNY 3,299 (roughly Rs. 38,700) and CNY 3,599 (roughly Rs. 42,300), respectively. 

Both the iQoo Neo 8 phones are offered in three colour variants – Night Rock, Match Point, and Surf. The phones go on sale starting May 31, and pre-orders for the models opened on May 23.

The iQoo Neo 8 and iQoo Neo 8 Pro sport a 6.78-inch 1.5K (2800 x 1260 pixels) AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and 2160Hz PWM dimming. The Pro model comes with slightly curved edges.

The base iQoo Neo 8 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC paired with an Adreno GPU, while the Neo 8 Pro is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset paired with Immortalis-G715 GPU. The series come equipped with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 inbuilt storage. They run Android 13 OS with Origin OS 3.0 on top.

For optics, the iQoo Neo 8 features a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor with a bokeh lens, while the iQoo Neo 8 Pro is equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX866V main sensor and an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens. Both models sport a 16-megapixel front camera sensor housed in centre-aligned hole-punch slots at the top of the display.

Both handsets offer a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. The iQoo Neo 8 and Neo 8 Pro come with USB Type-C charging ports and in-display fingerprint sensors. They support 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS and NFC connectivity.

The Match Point (red) variant of the iQoo Neo 8 series comes with a leatherback finish and is, therefore, thicker in size. The Night Rock and Surf variants of the vanilla iQoo Neo 8 weigh 194.6 grams and measure 164.72mm x 77mm x 8.36mm in size. The Match Point variant of the iQoo Neo 8 weighs 189.5 grams and measures 164.72mm x 77mm x 8.53mm in size.

Meanwhile, the Night Rock and Surf variants of the iQoo Neo 8 Pro weigh 196.9 grams, whereas the Match Point variant weighs 192.3 grams. The Pro models share size specifications with the base variant.

iQoo Neo 7 Pro launch in India could take place soon. The company’s CEO posted a teaser for a “Pro” branded iQoo Neo smartphone that is headed to the Indian market. The smartphone is expected to arrive as a premium version of the iQoo Neo 7 5G that was launched in India in February with a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC and support for 120W fast charging. The company is yet to reveal any specifications of the purported iQoo Neo 7 Pro handset.

A teaser shared by iQoo CEO Nipun Marya on Twitter contains the text “Neo” at the centre of the image, with “7” and “P” at the top and bottom of the image. The teaser hints at the Neo 7 Pro moniker of the handset, but the company hasn’t confirmed the name yet. It also doesn’t reveal any details of its specifications and features. The tweet states that the handset will launch in India soon.

In February, the company launched the iQoo Neo 7 5G in India. The handset brought upgrades over its predecessor. The handset sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

iQoo Neo 8 Series Launch Date Announced; Design and Key Specifications Revealed

iQoo Neo 8 series launch date has been announced. The company is set to launch its new Neo series smartphones in China on May 23. iQoo revealed that the lineup will include two models. The iQoo Neo 8 series will feature the vanilla model and the iQoo Neo 8 Pro. It would be the first time that the Neo series is getting a Pro moniker. iQoo also uploaded a short video on Weibo, which confirms some key specifications of the Neo 8 series.

The video reveals the design of the iQoo Neo 8, which appears to have a vegan leather back panel in red. The blacked-out camera module is rectangular in shape and has carbon fibre-like patterns on it. There is a triple-camera setup on the back. The phone has two camera sensors, each in a circular cutout. There is another tiny cutout next to the LED flash, which houses the third camera sensor. The primary camera sensor is confirmed to offer support for optical image stabilisation (OIS).

iQoo did not confirm the camera specifications. Instead, the company revealed that the Neo 8 Pro will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC and a Vivo V1+ image signal processor.

The company also confirmed that the iQoo Neo 8 5G will launch with a 12GB + 256GB RAM variant. The iQoo Neo 8 Pro is expected to launch with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

Both phones are tipped to feature a 6.78-inch flat AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution. There will be support for a 120Hz refresh rate as well. The screen will feature a hole-punch cutout at the top centre for the front camera.

The iQoo Neo 8 series is rumoured to feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX866V main camera sensor. Details about the other two camera sensors are under wraps. For selfies, both phones are likely to feature a 16-megapixel front camera sensor.

iQoo 12 5G Tipped to Feature 5,000mAh battery with 200W Fast Charging Support

iQoo 12 5G may soon be introduced with support for 200W fast charging technology. In the ever-competitive business of launching innovative capabilities for smartphones, companies have been trying to vie for customers’ attention with newer technologies. One of the most popular additions is support for faster charging. Redmi, Realme, Infinix, and Oppo have all joined the race and now seemingly iQoo has also thrown its hat into the ring. A tipster has now claimed that iQoo could soon offer support for one of the fastest charging solutions currently available on smartphones.

According to a Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station, iQoo is working on a 200W wired fast charging solution which will most likely be paired with a 5,000mAh battery. The company is yet to confirm any details about the handset, but following the launch of the iQoo 11 series of smartphones, they are expected to be succeeded by the iQoo 12 series which may debut later this year.

Meanwhile, the rumoured iQoo 12 Pro handset is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, according to a MySmartPrice report.

The iQoo 11 5G was launched in India in 8GB RAM + 256GB and 16GB RAM + 256GB storage configurations priced at Rs. 59,999 and Rs. 64,999, respectively, earlier this year. It is offered in Alpha (black) and Legend (white) colour variants.

Recently, it was also suggested that Oppo is working on a 300W SuperVOOC fast charging system paired with a 4,600mAh battery to compete with Redmi’s recently unveiled 300W Immortal Second Charge which is claimed to charge a smartphone with a 4,100mAh battery unit from zero to 100 percent in five minutes.

Infinix also unveiled a 260W All-Round FastCharge wired charging system that claims to charge a 4,400mAh battery unit completely in eight minutes. It also introduced a 110W Wireless All-Round FastCharge solution.

Earlier this year, Realme launched the Realme GT Neo 5 and Realme GT 3 smartphones with 240W wired fast charging support.

There have been leaks and reports about the global variant of the iQoo Z7x. A new report suggests that the phone has been spotted on the Geekbench database. According to a report by 91Mobiles, the iQoo Z7x 5G smartphone was spotted on the Geekbench website with the model number Vivo I2216, that suggests the listing is the Indian variant of the handset. The model reportedly appears with a Geekbench score of 905 in the single-core test and 2,137 in the multi-core test.

The report adds that the iQoo Z7x 5G Indian variant will be powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 695 SoC, like its Chinese counterparts. It is also said to run Android 13 with FunTouchOS 13 on top. The listing shows an 8GB RAM variant of the model, but the report says that there will likely be more variants.

Like its Chinese counterpart, the Indian variant of the iQoo Z7x 5G is tipped to arrive in Infinite Orange, Light Sea Blue, and Space Black colour options.

Vivo and iQoo are reportedly planning to merge core business operations to increase their efficiency and reduce costs. iQoo is a sub-brand of Vivo and the two companies have been sharing several resources such as R&D, supply chain, and media procurement. According to a report by 36 Krypton, Vivo is planning to merge iQoo’s branding and online business teams with its existing teams in order to reduce costs and increase efficiency. The website has cited a source close to the company saying that Vivo’s senior management is planning to merge iQoo’s brand, media strategy, and other teams, which may eliminate iQoo’s independent stores or counters. However, it is not clear yet whether the company will retain a separate business unit.

iQoo is a sub-brand of Vivo and the two have been sharing R&D, supply chain, and media procurement resources. However, their planning, media strategy, and e-commerce are independent of Vivo. But this reported merger will help the company to improve its competitive position in the market. Vivo and iQoo have not yet responded on the same, said the report.

Meanwhile, Vivo has also joined hands with Xiaomi and Oppo to bring a new solution for seamless data transfers between their smartphones. The new solution will allow users to share photos, and contacts as well as transfer third-party app data between Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo smartphones with ease.

The new development will also keep old chat records when switching phones. Currently, users can transfer data from Oppo and Vivo smartphones to a Xiaomi handset by using the Mi Switch. Notably, third-party application data transfer is supported on Xiaomi handsets running on MIUI 4.0.0 and above.

The iQoo Z7 5G is expected to succeed the iQoo Z6. The predecessor was released in India in March last year with a starting price tag of Rs. 15,499 for the base 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. It is available in Chromatic Blue and Dynamo Black colours.

The iQoo Z7 5G is scheduled to go official in India on March 21 and it will be available for purchase on Amazon.

iQoo Neo 7 5G India launch is scheduled for February 16, and the company has previously revealed the design of the iQoo Neo 7 Indian variant, as well as the colour options and certain specifications.
