Honor 90 5G Key Specifications Revealed Ahead of September 14 India Launch

Honor 90 5G is set to launch in India on September 14. The handset was released in China in May. HTech India, the company selling the phone in India, has now confirmed the key specifications of the Indian variant. Like its Chinese counterpart, it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC and will pack a 5,000mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. Meanwhile, an Amazon microsite of the Indian variant of the Honor 90 claims that it will be available in India with up to 19GB RAM and 512GB inbuilt storage. It is also listed with 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB variants. The listing suggests that the handset will support a vRAM expansion of 7GB.

Confirmed to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, the Honor 90 5G India variant will run Android 13-based Magic OS 7.1 out-of-the-box. The phone will sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1.5K (2664 x 1200 pixels), a refresh rate of up to 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness level of 1,600 nits.

The triple rear camera unit of the Honor 90 5G will include a 200-megapixel primary sensor with Honor Image Engine support, a 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel sensor with a macro lens. Housed in the centre-aligned hole-punch slot at the top of the display, the front camera is equipped with a 50-megapixel sensor.

Lastly, the Indian variant of the Honor 90 5G will pack a 5,000mAh battery with 66W wired fast charging support via USB Type-C port. Honor claims that the phone could run 20 hours worth of local 720p videos. It will also support 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and GPS connectivity.

Honor 90 to Get Google Apps, No Bloatware, and Offer 2 Years of Software Updates in India: Madhav Sheth

Honor 90 is confirmed to launch in India soon although the date has not yet been set. The handset was released in China earlier this year in May alongside the Honor 90 Pro. Madhav Sheth, previously associated with Realme India and the current HonorTech CEO has said that the Indian variant of the Honor 90, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC and backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 66W wired fast charging support, will launch with bloatware-free software.

In an official Honor YouTube interaction called AskMadhav 2.0, the company CEO said that the awaited Honor 90 will be released in India with pre-installed Google applications, but only the ones that users use and are truly productive like Google Maps, Google Drive, etc. He added that the phone will come with a “smooth, stable, and non-intrusive” UI, essentially ensuring bloatware-free software.

Sheth confirmed that the phone will ship with Android 13-based MagicOS 7.1 user interface. He also stated that the Honor 90 India variant will feature a durable, quad-curved AMOLED floating screen but went no further into revealing the specifications. He added that the company will provide two years of Android upgrades and three years of security updates. The executive reassured that the model will be released in India soon, but did not announce a particular date.

Expected to compete with other smartphones in the market like the OnePlus Nord 3 5G, iQoo Neo 7 Pro, and Poco F5 5G, the Honor 90 has been tipped to launch in India at around Rs. 35,000. Offered in Diamond Silver, Emerald Green, Midnight Black and Peacock Blue colour options, with availability varying in regions, the handset launched in China starting at CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 29,160) for the 12GB + 256GB storage variant.

Sporting a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,200 x 2,664 pixels) curved OLED display, the Chinese variant of the Honor 90 comes with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness level of 1,600 nits. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of inbuilt storage.

Honor 90 Lite With MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC, 100-Megapixel Camera Listed on Company’s France Site

Honor 90 Lite was listed on the Honor France company website on Tuesday. The model is the latest in the Honor 90 series, which was released earlier this year in May. The lineup includes the Honor 90 and Honor 90 Pro models, powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipsets, respectively. The Lite model is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC. The company has not revealed the price of the handset yet. Honor is also yet to confirm the sale date of the smartphone.

According to the listing on the Honor France website, the Honor 90 Lite sports a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (2,388 x 1080 pixels) LTPS LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and an aspect ratio of 19.9:9. The smartphone boots Android 13 with MagicOS 7.1 on top. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC paired with Mali-G57 GPU, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage. 

For optics, the Honor 90 Lite is equipped with a triple rear camera unit placed in a vertically placed elliptical pill-shaped module in the top left corner of the back panel. A smaller elliptical pill-shaped LED flash unit is placed beside it. The camera unit includes a 100-megapixel primary sensor, a 5-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel sensor with a macro lens. The 16-megapixel front camera sensor is housed in a centre-aligned punch-hole slot at the top of the display.

The Honor 90 Lite packs a 4,500mAh battery with 22.5W wired fast charging support. The smartphone is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Moreover, the dual nano SIM-supported phone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and GPS connectivity. The Honor 90 Lite weighs 179 grams and measures 162.9mm x 74.5mm x 7.48mm in size. It is offered in Cyan Lake, Midnight Black, and Titanium Silver colour options.
