Bill Maher says Howard Stern won’t ‘ever leave the house’ due to germaphobia

“Real Time” host Bill Maher questioned whether he would ever get a chance to hang out with Howard Stern in the post-pandemic era during a frank discussion about the legendary shock jock’s germaphobia.

Maher discussed his mercurial relationship with Stern – and their differing approaches to the COVID-19 pandemic – during a conversation with comedian Kevin Nealon on an episode of his “Club Random” podcast this month.

The HBO star said he’s unsure whether Stern will “ever leave the house” due to his well-documented fear of being exposed to the virus.

“I have a long, storied history, ups and downs with that man, and I find it so sad these days that I can’t see him because of the pandemic. We don’t agree on that,” Maher said. “Not that I think it has made us not like each other.”

A years-long rivalry between the two broadcasters has cooled in recent years – to the point that Stern appeared live on set for an episode of “Real Time” in late 2019.

Maher lamented that pandemic interrupted their newfound friendship.

“We didn’t have a good relationship for a very long time. Very bitter. And then, boy, it all changed and it just shows there’s some great things about age and getting older and wiser and mellower and smarter and we became such good friends again,” Maher said.

“I don’t think I’ll ever see him again because I don’t think he’ll ever leave the house because he’s very, very, look, I don’t want to judge it, but he’s scared of germs,” he continued.

“People have different views about that and they’re allowed. I don’t agree with some things he said about the pandemic, I think, were very wrong. You know, ‘we shouldn’t treat people who don’t get vaccinated.’ Stuff like that,” Maher added.

Stern broadcast his SiriusXM radio show from home throughout the pandemic and, by his own admission, has rarely ventured outside. In October 2022, Page Six reported that Stern went out to dinner with a group of friends for the first time since the pandemic began.

Stern later described the toll the outing took on him during an episode of his show.

“I really had an exhausting weekend, emotionally, physically,” Stern said. “For the first time in two years I ventured out of the house.”

“It was too much for me. It was too much. I haven’t been out in two years,” Stern added.

As Maher referenced, Stern has also been an outspoken critic of anti-vaccine viewpoints and argued COVID-19 vaccination should be mandatory.

Mediaite was first to report on Maher’s remarks.

‘Drunk’ Milly Alcock’s Golden Globes behavior goes viral

It’s possible Milly Alcock partied too hard at the Golden Globes ceremony.

The “House of the Dragon” actress delighted viewers with her seemingly tipsy demeanor while onstage with co-star Emma D’Arcy and director Miguel Sapochnik Tuesday night.

The 22-year-old leaned on D’arcy as Sapochnik accepted the award for Best Television Series.

Throughout his speech, Alcock giggled, pointed at someone in the audience and put her finger to her mouth.

Delighted fans took to Twitter to break down the “Upright” alum’s antics.

“Milly Alcock wasted at the golden globes is top tier,” one person wrote.

Another Twitter user noted, “Milly Alcock drunk off her arse at the Golden Globes being my spirit animal is sending me.”

Alcock held onto co-star Emma D’Arcy while helping accept the award for Best Drama Series.
NBC

“drunk milly alcock at the golden globes you will always be famous (ft. emma d’arcy),” added a third.

Alcock seemingly confirmed her imbibed state via Instagram Stories later that evening when she reposted a photo of herself giggling at Sapochnik.

The “House of Dragon” star continued to giggle.
NBC

“Ummmm,” she wrote over the silly snap.

Alcock’s rep has yet to respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Alcock also pointed into the audience.

Alcock plays young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in the HBO show, which is a “Games of Thrones” prequel and adaption of author George R. R. Martin’s book, “Fire and Blood.”

The fantasy series is set about 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” following Daenerys Targaryen’s ancestors as they plot over who will succeed the current king, played by Paddy Considine, on the throne.

The actress plays young Rhaenyra Targaryen on the HBO show.

In September 2022, Alcock told the NY Post that filming the controversial incest scene with her character’s uncle, Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith), wasn’t difficult to film.

“[We] were just kind of mates” Alcock said at the time. “So, it was quite comfortable.

“We had an intimacy coordinator, and we worked with her through the rehearsal process and blocked it out months before,” she continued.

Dune: The Sisterhood Casts Chernobyl’s Emily Watson, Harry Potter’s Shirley Henderson as Leads: Report

Dune: The Sisterhood has reportedly cast Emily Watson and Shirley Henderson as the two leads in the upcoming HBO Max series that serves as a prequel to the Oscar-winning movie. As per Variety, the pair will portray Valya Harkonnen and Tula Harkonnen respectively, the sisters who rose to power in a titular secret organisation, the Sisterhood. Years from then, it will grow into the more commonly known, fabled sect, the Bene Gesserit. Dune director Denis Villeneuve was attached to direct the pilot at one point, though now, he has sidelined himself as executive producer alongside Jon Spaihts, who co-wrote the 2021 film.

Based on the 2012 sci-fi novel Sisterhood of Dune, by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, the upcoming HBO Max series is set 10,000 before the events of Dune. As per the official logline, Dune: The Sisterhood follows the aforementioned Harkonnen sisters, as they get involved in an underground organisation called the Sisterhood of Rossak, who train their bodies and mind to obtain superhuman powers, in a quest to save the future of mankind. The group eventually evolves into the enigmatic Bene Gesserit that we know now.

Diane Ademu-John (The Haunting of Bly Manor) and Alison Schapker (Westworld) serve as co-showrunners and executive producers, with the former taking on additional duties as creator and head writer. Dune: The Sisterhood marks the second collaboration between lead Watson and filmmaker Johan Renck, who is attached to direct the first two episodes. The pair previously worked on the critically-acclaimed HBO miniseries, Chernobyl — streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. Meanwhile, fantasy fans will be able to recognise Henderson as Moaning Myrtle from the Harry Potter films.

“The Bene Gesserit have always been fascinating to me,” Villeneuve said in a prepared statement in 2019, when the show was just greenlit at HBO Max. “Focusing a series around that powerful order of women seemed not only relevant and inspiring but a dynamic setting for the television series.” Both Villeneuve and Spaihts had to eventually drop out from directing and writing roles, in order to focus on the mainline film, set in the same universe. Upon release, Dune grossed $401.8 million (about Rs. 3,276 crore) at the global box office, and bagged six Academy Awards.

A film sequel is currently in production, aiming for a November 2023 release window. Dune: Part Two was officially greenlit on October 26 last year, merely four days after the global release of Part One.

Dune: The Sisterhood currently does not have a tentative release date.

Emmy Winners 2022: The White Lotus Leads the Pack With 5 Major Awards, Ted Lasso in Close Second

The White Lotus won big at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, held early Tuesday. The Mike White-helmed comedy-drama anthology netted five awards in HBO’s favour, out of the 20 nominations it earned for the main event. The series bagged trophies for best anthology series, best supporting actor (Murray Bartlett), best supporting actress (Jennifer Coolidge), and individual honours for best directing and best writing in a limited series (Mike White). The upbeat series got renewed for season 2 back in August, and so it does not qualify for the latter two prizes in the next awards season.

Following in close second is the Jason Sudeikis-led sports comedy, Ted Lasso, which tied for 20 nominations with the aforementioned The White Lotus. The AppleTV+ show scored four awards, including a second straight Outstanding Comedy Series, alongside acting awards for Sudeikis and Brett Goldstein. The series also bagged an award for best directing in a comedy series. On the other hand, Succession, a clear Emmy favourite with 25 nominations, claimed trophies in three categories: best drama series (second time), best supporting actor (Matthew Macfayden), and best writing (Jesse Armstrong).

If you consider the Creative Arts Emmys — held last week — The White Lotus has managed to win 10 awards, helping HBO/ HBO Max pick up 38 awards from the entire show. The studio took home 19 trophies last year, marking double the achievement this year. Other notable moments include Zendaya winning best actress for Euphoria, making her the youngest actress to ever win two Emmys in the category — first award in 2020. On the other end, Squid Game’s Lee Jung-jae became the first Asian actor to win lead actor in a drama series, for Netflix. The studio came second with 26 total Emmys — far down from the 46 they picked up last year, thanks to The Crown and the Anya Taylor-Joy-led chess miniseries, The Queen’s Gambit.

Barbie Ferreira exits ‘Euphoria’ ahead of Season 3

Bitch, you better be joking.

Barbie Ferreira announced on Wednesday that she will not be returning for Season 3 of “Euphoria” to play the iconic Kat Hernandez.

“After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character Kat, I’m having to say a very teary eyed goodbye,” the actress, 25, said in an emotional Instagram Story post. “I hope many of you could see yourself in her like I did, and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today.”

The actress revealed the news on her Instagram Story.

She concluded the announcement by telling fans she put all her “care and love” into her character, a plus-size high schooler trying to come into her own.

Along with the news, the model shared a drawing of her character’s cam-girl alter ego made by co-star Hunter Schafer, who plays Jules Vaughn in the show.

After announcing her departure, many fans of the hit HBO series took to Ferreira’s latest Instagram post to express their sadness.

“BARBIE PLSSS NOOO 🥺🥺🥺🥺 KAT WAS SO AMAZING SHE DESERVED BETTER AND U DID TOO :(,” one fan commented.

Fans took to social media to express their sadness about her departure.

“Don’t quit gurl [sic] we love you the mostest!!!!,” another pleaded.

Others were less shocked by the news, given how Ferreira’s character was seemingly put on the back burner during Season 2 of the series.

“I know it was probably not an easy decision but it seems so toxic. I’m glad you left,” one fan chimed in, adding, “You are an amazing actor and deserve to be treated right. You have many amazing projects waiting for you💗.”

Ferreira played Kat on the HBO series.

The model’s character was reportedly cut out from parts of the show after rumors swirled Ferreira and the show’s producer, Sam Levinson, got into a heated argument on the set.

Whatever the reasoning may be, we’re sad to hear Kat will be turning off her webcam for good.

‘Sesame Street’ had 200 episodes removed by HBO Max

HBO Max is axing about 200 episodes of “Sesame Street” from its streaming platform. but the reason for the purge is unclear.

Warner Bros. Discovery recently acquired HBO Max. On Friday, the streaming service listed 456 “Sesame Street” episodes available compared to about 650 that were available previously. HBO Max has not had access to all the show’s episodes at the same time.

HBO Max only showcases episodes from seasons 1, 5 and 7, as well as the recent seasons 39-52.

An HBO Max spokesperson shared a statement with Fox News Digital on Saturday regarding to cut back on “Sesame Street.”

“‘Sesame Street’ is and has always been an important part of television culture and a crown jewel of our preschool offering,” the statement began.

“We are committed to continuing to bring ‘Sesame Street’into families’ homes, including the newest season premiering this fall and the nearly 400 episodes of the most current and historic seasons that remain on Cartoonito on HBO Max.”

The upcoming 53rd season will be available on the streaming service, the outlet reported.

HBO and “Sesame Street” joined forces in 2015, which gave the streaming service priority to air all new episodes first, before it can be seen on the show’s longtime home, PBS. This agreement is effective until

The “Sesame Street” cut comes after HBO made an announcement on Wednesday saying that at least 36 additional shows will be leaving the platform this week.

That includes 20 HBO original shows, as well as “Generation,” “Infinity Train,” and earlier this month, all eight of the “Harry Potter” films were axed.

Warner Bros. Discovery shared the removal of the shows comes with the new pending contract with Discovery+.

It’s still unclear why HBO Max is removing the epsidoes.

“As we work toward bringing our content catalogs together under one platform, we will be making changes to the content offering available on both HBO Max and Discovery+,” the company said in a statement. “That will include the removal of some content from both platforms.”

House of the Dragon Episode 1 Leaked on Torrent Sites, Piracy Networks Ahead of Release

House of the Dragon episode 1 has leaked onto torrent sites and other networks that enable piracy, in differing versions of quality and file size (from 262MB to 2.29GB). While most copies of the Game of Thrones prequel series are arguably genuine, given the attached screenshots and user comments attesting to their legitimacy, some are fraudulent and merely exist as a trap to load viruses and malware onto the computers of unsuspecting individuals. And because House of the Dragon is being released directly online — available on HBO Max and Disney+ Hotstar — the genuine pirated copies have good video and audio quality. Gadgets 360 does not condone illegal file-sharing. It is against the law and filmmakers deserve to be paid for the content they create.

House of the Dragon Review: Game of Thrones Is Back — and It’s Great

The first legitimate leaked version of House of the Dragon episode 1 showed up on torrent sites around 8:20am IST on Sunday, August 21 — almost 24 hours prior to release — in full-HD 1080p resolution and surround sound audio. (House of the Dragon premieres Sunday at 9pm ET on HBO Max wherever available, and 6:30am IST on Disney+ Hotstar in India.) High-definition piracy is a permanent issue for TV shows, as they are more easily recorded than movies on the big screen. Also, Game of Thrones is no stranger to leaks. For what it’s worth, House of the Dragon will also be available in 4K HDR — at least on HBO Max — but there’s no leaked 4K version at the time of writing.

Created by Ryan Condal (Colony) and George R.R. Martin — the latter is the author behind A Song of Ice and Fire, the series of books that were adapted into the eight-season-long Game of Thrones — House of the Dragon is set about 200 years prior to its parent series. It chronicles the beginning of the end of House Targaryen, which culminated in the famed Targaryen war of succession, known as the Dance of the Dragons. Unlike Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon will deploy multiple time jumps across its 10-episode first season, with actors also swapping out roles over the course of the season. The Thrones spin-off could take on an anthology format from season 2.

In House of the Dragon, Paddy Considine stars as the Seven Kingdoms’ fifth ruler King Viserys I Targaryen, Matt Smith as Viserys’ younger brother and heir presumptive Prince Daemon Targaryen, Emma D’Arcy and Milly Alcock as Viserys’ firstborn child Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Olivia Cooke and Emily Carey as Rhaenyra’s best friend Lady Alicent Hightower, Steve Toussaint as famous seafarer Lord Corlys “Sea Snake” Velaryon, Eve Best as Corlys’ wife and The Queen Who Never Was, Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, Fabien Frankel as skilled swordsman Ser Criston Cole, Sonoya Mizuno as Daemon’s trusted ally Mysaria, and Rhys Ifans as Alicent’s father and the Hand of the King, Ser Otto Hightower.

House of the Dragon episode 1 is out August 22 at 6:30am IST on Disney+ Hotstar. New episodes air every Monday at 6:30am until October 24.

Westworld Season 4 Trailer: Evan Rachel Wood Somehow Returns on HBO Sci-Fi Series

Westworld season 4 trailer is out. On Thursday, HBO unveiled a two-minute 33-second new trailer for the fourth instalment of the sci-fi dystopian series Westworld to give fans a glimpse of what is in store for them this time around. The Westworld season 4 trailer introduces us to a new character named Christina (Evan Rachel Wood) who talks about the “story of a girl”. Things soon take a dark turn, as the focus shifts to the need to “question your own reality” and the theme of revenge. The Westworld season 4 trailer ends with a series of unnerving graphic visuals, without revealing much about the story.

Besides Wood, the Westworld season 4 cast includes Thandiwe Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, James Marsden, Ed Harris, Luke Hemsworth, Ariana DeBos, and Aaron Paul. While some return to reprise their characters, we will get clarity on other characters only once the new season has begun, as Westworld guards plot details so closely that what we learn upon premiere often assumes a completely different meaning altogether by the time the season concludes.

Created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, Westworld is based on Jurassic Park author Michael Crichton’s 1973 feature film of the same name. It debuted on HBO in 2014 with its first episode receiving record viewership. It went on to deliver the most-watched first season of any HBO series. The second instalment too found wide patronage. The third season however, didn’t live up to expectations when it was released amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Can Westworld season 4 return to its glory days?

Nolan and Joy serve as executive producers alongside J.J. Abrams, Jerry Weintraub, and Bryan Burk. Westworld season 4 is production of HBO Entertainment, Kilter Films, Bad Robot Productions, and Warner Bros. Television

Westworld season 4 premieres June 26 on HBO and HBO Max wherever available, and June 27 in India on Disney+ Hotstar. New episodes drop on a weekly basis.

Westworld Season 4 Trailer Out, Release Date Set for June 27 on Disney+ Hotstar

Westworld season 4 trailer and release date are out. HBO has unveiled a two-minute 17-second teaser trailer which gives fans a brief look at what to expect from the dystopian thriller this time around, while confirming the Westworld season 4 release date as June 26. Those in India will naturally be able to watch the show on Disney+ Hotstar from June 27. The Westworld season 4 trailer is set to Lou Reed’s song “Perfect Day”. The soft notes are soothing to the ear, while the visuals are quite gut-wrenching. The video re-introduces us to the Westworld season 4 cast, which includes the likes of Evan Rachel Wood, Thandiwe Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Ed Harris, Luke Hemsworth, and Aaron Paul. It, however as expected, doesn’t reveal much about the plot

While I am sure that fans may have already come up with their own theories regarding the Westworld season 4 storyline and character arcs, the one thing Westworld has really taught us over the years is to expect the unexpected. In fact, given its theme, one is likely to get clarity on who’s playing what role only once the show goes live. In fact, Westworld guards its secrets so closely that what you learn upon premiere often changes by the time the season wraps up.

HBO programming president Casey Bloys had previously hinted at the same in a prepared statement, back when Westworld season 4 was first announced: “From the western theme park to the technocratic metropolis of the near future, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed every twist and turn from the minds of master storytellers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. We can’t wait to see where their inspired vision takes us next.”

Based on Jurassic Park author Michael Crichton’s 1973 feature film of the same name, Westworld debuted on HBO in 2014 with its first episode receiving record viewership. It went on to deliver the most-watched first season of any HBO series. The second season too became quite popular. The third instalment, however, proved to be a low-key affair when it was released amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Mixed reviews and comparisons with the previous seasons further diluted its impact. It remains to be seen whether Westworld season 4 proves to be a memorable outing for fans.

Westworld season 4 premieres June 26 on HBO and HBO Max wherever available, and June 27 in India on Disney+ Hotstar. New episodes drop on a weekly basis. The series is created by Nolan and Joy, who are credited as executive producers alongside J.J. Abrams, Jerry Weintraub, and Bryan Burk.
