The smartwatch is powered by a Qualcomm 5100 SoC paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. The watch runs Wear OS 4.0 out-of-the-box.

The Pixel Watch 2 is equipped with multiple sensors like a compass, an altimeter, a 3-axis accelerometer, a gyroscope, an ambient light sensor, a barometer, and a magnetometer. Like most other fitness tracking devices, this watch also comes with a oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitor, ECG monitor, multi-path optical heart rate sensor, electrical sensor to measure skin conductance (cEDA) for body response tracking, and a skin temperature sensor.

Aside from 40 sports modes, the Pixel Watch 2 can also give the user data on health and physical activity including a daily readiness score, a sleep score, chart active zone minutes, and prepare a sleep profile.

Google claims that the body of the watch, weighing 31 grams, is made out of 100 percent recycled aluminum. The bands arrive with fluoroelastomer and soft-touch coating.

Google Pixel Watch 2 Tipped to Get Inbuilt Thermometer, Safety Updates: All Details

Google Pixel Watch 2 is scheduled to launch on October 4 at the Made by Google event alongside the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Previous leaks have suggested some key specifications and colour options that the smartwatch could be introduced in. A new report suggests that the upcoming smart wearable device will come with some significant upgrades including features that were seen on the Fitbit Sense 2. Alongside safety upgrades, the watch is also expected to come with an inbuilt thermometer.

Pixel Watch 2, expected to succeed the Pixel Watch, will reportedly offer features like an upgraded electrodermal activity (EDA) sensor that tracks and allows users to monitor their stress levels. A 9to5Google report suggests that the upcoming watch will be launching with this improved sensor and help users regulate their stress levels.

The report further adds that just like the Fitbit Sense 2, the Pixel Watch 2 is likely to come with an additional skin temperature sensor, which is expected to work like a thermometer and help users track their body temperature. However, the Fitbit Sense 2 only monitors skin temperature during night time.

As per the report, the temperature sensor can not only be used for thermometer reading but also for tracking a user’s menstrual cycles. Notably, the Pixel 8 Pro, to be unveiled at the same event as the Pixel Watch 2, is also likely to ship with an inbuilt temperature sensor as per another report.

The Pixel Watch 2 could be offered in Silver/White, Silver/Bay, Gold/Hazel, and Black/Obsidian colour options. The models of the smartwatch are expected to have LTE and Wi-Fi variants. It is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 series chipset. The Pixel Watch 2 could come with a Snapdragon W5 or Snapdragon W5+ SoC.

Google Pixel Watch 2 Spotted on Google Play Console; Specifications, Chipset Tipped

Google Pixel Watch 2 is expected to launch soon as the successor to the Google Pixel Watch, which was released in October 2022. The debut Pixel Watch model has a 1.2-inch AMOLED touch display protected by 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and an Exynos 9110 SoC. The watch also claimed to have a battery life of up to 24 hours. However, the upcoming Pixel Watch 2 is expected to include an improved SoC and battery. There have been several rumours about the purported smartwatch. The wearable was reportedly spotted on Google Play Console, where some key specifications were listed.

A 9to5Google report says that the Pixel Watch 2 was recently spotted on the Google Play Console. The listing shows some key details of the smart wearable, including its processor, display and software specifications. The report says that the watch is likely to be powered by a Qualcomm SW5100 SoC, which claims to be the Snapdragon W5 chipset, not the W5+ variant. It is also tipped to retain 2GB of RAM from the preceding model.

Reportedly, the Snapdragon W5 chip is built on the same Samsung 4nm processor as almost all of the 2021 and 2022 smartphone chips, leading to a considerable efficiency gain over the previous chip. It is likely to support low-power states such as Deep Sleep and Hibernation, which will extend the Pixel Watch 2’s battery life.

The Pixel Watch 2 is said to come with Android 13-based Wear OS 4, according to the listing. The report added that the wearable will also come with support for Wear OS 4’s new “backup” feature. As previously reported, Google is reported to market the smartwatch with a 1.2-inch round OLED display and come with a Samsung panel instead of a BOE display. It is expected to have a resolution of 384×384 pixels and a pixel density of 320ppi.

The upcoming smartwatch will reportedly include an ultrawide-band (UWB) connectivity option in addition to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. With a 4 percent boost over its predecessor, the Pixel Watch 2 is slated to pack a slightly larger 306mAh battery, as opposed to the 294mAh rated battery of the Pixel Watch 2022 model, which claims to give up to 24 hours of battery life.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 alongside the Galaxy Tab S9 series and Galaxy Watch 6 series at its first Galaxy Unpacked event in South Korea. Google Pixel Watch 2 SoC, Battery, Other Specifications Tipped Again

Google Pixel Watch 2 is expected to launch as the successor to the first-generation Pixel Watch, which was released in October 2022. The first Pixel Watch came with a 1.2-inch AMOLED touch display with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and an Exynos 9110 SoC. The watch also claimed to offer up to 24 hours of battery life. The Pixel Watch’s successor is expected to get an upgraded SoC and battery. A new report suggests the updates that the purported Google wearable is likely to come with.

According to an Android Authority report, the Google Pixel Watch 2 is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC instead of the in-house Exynos 9110 chipset that came with the first-generation model. The upgrades to the Pixel Watch 2 hardware were tipped previously as well. The Snapdragon W5 chip is reportedly based on the same Samsung 4nm process as the majority of the 2021 and 2022 smartphone chips, resulting in a significant efficiency boost over the previous chip. It also supports brand-new low-power states including Deep Sleep and Hibernation, which is expected to increase the battery life of the Pixel Watch 2.

The Pixel Watch 2 is expected to come with an ultrawide-band (UWB), which is an increasingly popular connectivity option alongside Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. UWB devices allow users to send and receive data across short distances using pulse-based radio waves, which are used in technology to locate one device using another. Google is also said to working on improving its Find My Device network, which works in a similar fashion to that of Apple’s AirTag. The report suggests that the feature can be used as a Digital Car Key or a media playback alternative to a Pixel tablet or a Google Nest device.

With a notable four percent improvement over its predecessor, the Pixel Watch 2 is expected to be backed by a slightly larger 306mAh battery, over the 294mAh rated battery of the Pixel Watch 2022 model, which claims to offer a battery life of up to 24 hours. The upcoming smart wearable is also likely to boot Wear OS 4 based on Android 13 out-of-the-box.

Reportedly, the Pixel Watch 2 is likely to be developed under codenames ‘Eos’ and ‘Aurora,’ which are expected to be the LTE and exclusively Wi-Fi variants, respectively. The upcoming model is expected to maintain a 1.2-inch round OLED display with a resolution of 384 x 384 pixels with thick bezels, but the company is likely to replace Pixel Watch’s BOE panel with screens that are sourced from Samsung Display.
