Daquan Armstead charged in string of random NYC attacks on women over the past month: NYPD

A deranged woman-hating maniac wanted for more than a half-dozen random attacks on women in the Big Apple is finally in custody, police and sources said Tuesday.

Daquan Armstead, 31, was picked up by cops shortly after midnight and charged with third-degree assault and harassment in eight unprovoked attacks on women over the past month, the sources said.

That includes an April 17 attack on a 27-year-old administrator at New York University, who was slugged in the face while walking through Washington Square Park around 10:30 a.m., according to police.

The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating, although details weren’t released.

Armstead is also being charged in seven other attacks this year.

The violent spree began on Feb. 12, when police said Armstead allegedly walked up to a 30-year-old woman on Elizabeth Street around 11:50 a.m. and punched her without warning, then fled.

On March 24 he allegedly attacked a 30-year-old woman on Delancy Street at around 2 a.m., hitting the victim in the back of the head as she turned. He then ran from the scene.

The following day Armstead is charged with punching a 36-year-old woman in the back as she walked along Chrystie and Rivington streets around 10:15 a.m., police said.

On April 2, he allegedly slugged another woman after he asked the 38-year-old victim for $1 and she replied that she had no cash so he punched her in the back of the head.

Police said he is also accused of attacking two women in separate incidents on Delancey Street on April 5 a 25-year-old who was slugged on the right side of her head around 12:25 p.m. and a 44-year-old who was punched in the face just five minutes later, according to cops.

In the last alleged attack before the assault on the NYU administrator, police said Armstead punched a 24-year-old woman on Stanton Street after she also refused when he asked her for $1 shortly before 10 a.m.

Records show his prior busts date to a 2021 misdemeanor asault case.

He is expected to be arraigned on the new charges later on Tuesday.

Police have also been investigating a series of other attacks on woman that have not been linked to Armstead, including a 23-year-old woman slugged outside Union Square McDonald’s last month.

Among the other recent victims was Halley Kate, an influencer with 1.1 million followers on TikTok, who posted a video last week saying she was assaulted so viciously that she blacked out.

Skiboky Stora, 40, a criminal with an extensive criminal record, was busted in that case.

In another random attack, a 57-year-old Brooklyn school bus aide was slugged by an unhinged man — a brutal attack that broke her jaw and knocked out several teeth — in Crown Heights, cops said.

Franz Jeudy, 33 — who has a history of sucker-punch attacks and mental illness — was hit with misdemeanor assault charges in that attack, according to a criminal complaint..

Elderly San Francisco man Rongxin Liao to return to China after decades of living in US because it’s ‘too dangerous’

The family of an elderly man — who has been assaulted multiple times on the crime-riddled streets of San Francisco — has decided America is “too dangerous” for their loved one and is sending him back to his home country of China after decades of living in the States.

“It’s too dangerous here,” Jing Liao told the San Francisco Standard on Monday after he and his family booked his father, Rongxin Liao, 87, a one-way ticket back to his home city of Guangzhou, Guangdong.

“Public safety situation in San Francisco has become worse and worse,” Liao added, revealing his father had been brutally attacked multiple times while in San Francisco.

Rongxin Liao was the victim of one high-profile case in 2020 when security footage caught a deranged man jump-kicking him as he sat in his walker waiting for the bus on a street in the depreciating city.

The Chinese immigrant, who speaks little English, had appeared in court multiple times to ask the judge for a harsher sentence for his attacker.

His attacker, Eric Ramos-Hernandez, was only jailed for seven months, then transferred to a mental health clinic, only to be later released for at-home treatment, the Standard reported.

Rongxin Liao suffered severe head injuries as a result of that attack.

The grandfather was attacked again on Oct. 1, 2023, while he was walking down Market Street in Downtown San Francisco, his son revealed.

A police report obtained by the outlet shows an 86-year-old Asian male matching Rongxin Liao’s description was sucker punched that day and transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Rongxin Liao himself also told the Chinese-language newspaper Sing Tao Daily on Monday that he was attacked in the city seven years ago while walking to church.

The 87-year-old said he had been beaten unconscious by an unknown attacker and woke up in the emergency room of St. Francis Memorial Hospital with a partly fractured hand that required eight stitches.

Despite being questioned by police multiple times, his attacker was never found, and the case was dropped.

“I don’t want to be a drag to my son here,” Rongxin Liao told Sing Tao Daily. “I don’t want him to worry about me all the time.”

The family decided to send their elder back so he could live out the remainder of his days in peace with Jing Liao’s brother back in China.

Liao had a farewell dinner with some of his elder friends in Chinatown on Sunday to say his goodbyes after 24 years of living in America.

Before he leaves America this Saturday, he will revisit the hospital to check on his eye injuries stemming from the last attack.

Assaults across San Francisco dropped by 4.9% in 2023, according to the latest crime statistics.

In 2022, however, assaults in the city had jumped a staggering 8.8% in comparison to 2021.

Following his 2020 assault, the video of the violent attack and members of Rongxin Liao’s family would appear in a recall campaign advertisement against then-District Attorney Chesa Boudin.

The ad, which ran in May 2022, claimed that since Boudin was elected as DA, hate crimes against Asian Americans have risen 567%.

Boudin was ousted from his role back in June 2022 after fed-up San Francisco voters chose to recall the soft-on-crime DA following surges in shameless shoplifting, car break-ins, and rampant, open-air drug dealing.

Coastal Carolina quarterback Bryce Carpenter arrested for allegedly slamming woman to ground

Coastal Carolina backup quarterback Bryce Carpenter was arrested on Sunday in South Carolina.

The 23-year-old was accused of slamming a woman to the ground when she allegedly refused his sexual advances, according to police in Horry County. He was charged with third-degree assault and battery. He was released on a $2,500 bond the same day.

Carpenter was at a party when he allegedly tried to grab a woman but was pulled away from her by other partygoers, according to WBTW-TV. The woman reportedly tried to talk to Carpenter again, but he allegedly made another advance.

After she pushed him away, she told police he picked her up and slammed her down to the sidewalk. According to police, the woman suffered swelling on the back of her head and other minor injuries.

Carpenter told officers he didn’t go to any parties and was home the entire time, according to WPDE-TV.

Coastal Carolina took action against Carpenter after his arrest.

“Coastal Carolina University student Bryce Carpenter has been suspended indefinitely from all football-related activities,” the school said in a statement. “All student conduct cases are handled through CCU’s student conduct process. Due to the FERPA federal law, CCU is unable to release any other details.”

Carpenter was a fifth-year senior and the backup to starting quarterback Grayson McCall. McCall is reportedly set to answer the NCAA transfer portal.

Charge against woman who attacked California mother and 1-year-old dismissed

A California mother attacked in a parking lot with her child in her arms is voicing her outrage after a charge against the suspect was reportedly dismissed.

“I’m trying to figure out why she’s not being held responsible for hitting a 1-year-old child,” Clarissa Guevara told KTTV-TV on Wednesday after the charge was dropped against the female suspect, who was seen on video attacking Guevara in a Hemet, California, parking lot as she clutched her young child. “I’m trying my hardest to have my baby’s voice heard.”

Guevara says the incident, which happened six months ago and led to a misdemeanor child endangerment charge against the suspect, stemmed from a domestic issue that a former friend of hers was upset about.

On Monday, KTTV-TV reported that the charge against the woman was dropped by the Riverside County Superior Court due to lack of courtroom space.

The county has reportedly dismissed more than 200 criminal cases due to lack of space, citing a backlog from the coronavirus shutdown and a shortage of judges.

Guevara told KTTV-TV that she is still struggling to cope with the emotional toll of the attack, which was caught on surveillance video.

“That scream I heard that day, I would never forget that screaming,” Guevara told the outlet about the attack in Hemet, roughly 90 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.

“She punched my daughter in the face,” Guevara added. “My 1-year-old daughter.”

The Riverside County Superior Court directed Fox News Digital to a news release in late October explaining the rationale and conditions that led to some cases being dismissed due to various issues including the coronavirus pandemic.

West could be heard in the clip yelling at the female staffer, “Get away from me,” as she tried to calm him down and said, “Give me your hand.”

“No, get away from me!” he then responded in rage. “Ain’t no hands, ain’t no hands.”

Page Six learned soon after that the alleged victim had attempted to get West’s autograph on two separate occasions.

An insider told us the unidentified male first asked the “Jesus Walks” rapper for an autograph outside of Craig’s in LA and then again outside of LA-hotspot Delilah two days later.

Page Six revealed earlier this year that the alleged victim had asked West, pictured here with ex Kim Kardashian, for an autograph before the alleged incident.

Law enforcement sources previously told TMZ that police were reviewing paparazzi videos and witness statements as part of their investigation.

The case was being investigated as a misdemeanor battery, which carries a maximum jail sentence of six months.

Reps for West did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on the LA City Attorney’s Office decision.
