Following the departure of Chris Paul in a trade deal for Bradley Beal during the offseason, NBA insider Chris Haynes has emphasized the Phoenix Suns’ pressing need for a proficient point guard.

Haynes believes that the Suns are now facing a critical need at the point guard position, prompting discussions about their ball-handling strategy.

He shared his insights during the #thisleague UNCUT podcast alongside Marc Stein, stating (h/t HoopsHype), “They are trying to rotate the point guard assignments between Bradley Beal and Devin Booker. And that is the plan right now going into the season that those two are going to share those roles.”

As the Suns prepare for the upcoming season, the question of whether they acknowledge the need for a dedicated point guard remains unanswered.

Haynes suggested that opinions within the organization may vary, making the point guard situation a topic of debate as the season approaches.

For his part, Stein mentioned that the Suns have a long standing interest in Pacers guard TJ McConnell.
