One player New York Giants would steal from Commanders

The New York Giants (2-8) will visit the Washington Commanders (4-6) at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland this Sunday.

That, of course, provides those of us here at Giants Wire the opportunity to hypothetically steal from the Commanders’ roster in search of depth and/or talent upgrades for Big Blue.

Earlier this year, we snagged center Nick Gates from Washington’s roster and he’s subsequently been benched. We’d still like to steal him back but that ship has sailed and he’s off the board.

Washington also traded away their two stud edge rushers — Montez Sweat and Chase Young — which further limits our options for theft.

Potential thefts remaining include cornerback Kendall Fuller, safety Kamren Curl, return man Jamison Crowder, and offensive tackle Charles Leno Jr. But we’re going to go with the obvious choice here and no, it’s not quarterback Sam Howell. Rather, it’s veteran wide receiver Terry McLaurin.

Through 10 games this season, McLaurin has hauled in 51 receptions for 601 yards and two touchdowns. He’s on pace to finish with over 1,000 yards for the fourth consecutive season but has yet to reach his full potential.

In New York, McLaurin would provide a legitimate deep threat who’s able to create separation and draw double teams. That would also open things up for other receivers, who would face more one-on-one matchups.

The Giants are obviously in a state of flux at the moment but McLaurin would represent a true No. 1 for whoever is under center for the Giants next season.

What are your thoughts, Giants fans? Would you pick Terry McLaurin or would you steal an entirely different player from the Washington Commanders?
