New York Giants NFL power rankings round-up going into Week 4
The New York Giants took a beating at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers last Thursday night, falling by a score of 30-12 in prime time.
It was an ugly showing for the Giants, who couldn’t tackle, couldn’t get off the field on third down, couldn’t stop the run, couldn’t catch, couldn’t run the ball, and couldn’t pass protect. It was a Murphy’s Law kind of night.
The loss dropped them to 1-2 on the season and now they headed into a Monday night matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.
As we enter Week 4, here’s a look at where the Giants place in a multitude of power rankings.

Going back to last season’s playoffs, they’ve trailed by double digits at halftime in four straight games, the combined score at intermission in that stretch 91-6 in favor of New York’s opponents. Yes, they’ve faced Philadelphia, Dallas and San Francisco in that stretch … though that’s another way of saying the Giants are no better than NFL welterweights.

The Giants are 30 minutes from being winless. Okay, now the comeback against Arizona looks better. However, this team isn’t progressing.

This is what over $80 million in guarantees for Daniel Jones looks like. Enjoy your 12 points and being the 30th best team in the league, and good luck in the Caleb Williams sweepstakes.

Speaking of horrific offensive lines, the New York Giants can’t keep Daniel Jones upright. He’s under siege on nearly every dropback, and while he’s playing relatively well considering his surroundings, he is unable to elevate the operation enough to be competitive against good teams.
The Cowboys and 49ers are two of the league’s best teams, and New York couldn’t keep up offensively, and they certainly couldn’t get the stops they needed on defense to keep the game close.

The Giants had no chance in San Francisco with their injuries to Saquon Barkley, Andrew Thomas and others. Daniel Jones cannot handle top-level defenses and help them overcome. Their pass defense has been disappointing, too.

The Giants’ next three games are against the Seahawks, at the Dolphins and at the Bills. If the Giants can’t beat Seattle this week, this could turn into 1-5 in a hurry. And the one win was a miraculous comeback at the Cardinals.
