The Dallas Mavericks intend to re-sign free agent forward Markieff Morris, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic (Twitter link).

With 15 players under guaranteed contracts, the Mavs have a full roster. Releasing JaVale McGee would open a spot for Morris, who came from Brooklyn as part of the Kyrie Irving trade and finished last season with Dallas.

Despite playing only 70 minutes over eight regular season games, Morris is valued by the organization for his veteran leadership and toughness.
