Manchester United consider Thiago Motta as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United are reportedly examining the credentials of Bologna’s manager Thiago Motta, amid uncertainty about current manager Erik ten Hag’s future at the club.

While Ten Hag’s departure is not confirmed, the quest for potential replacements has begun, highlighting Motta as a key contender.

Thiago Motta has led Bologna to a commendable fourth position in Serie A, earning accolades for his team’s dynamic style of play.

According to sources close to CaughtOffside, other prominent names are also on United’s radar, including Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte, both of whom are expected to be available this coming summer.

Additionally, Roberto de Zerbi of Brighton is being considered, though securing him might prove challenging due to likely interest from top clubs like Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Chelsea.

The search for a new manager isn’t new for the Red Devils, who had previously considered Julen Lopetegui, the former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager.

Although initial discussions were held, Lopetegui is no longer viewed as a leading candidate for the position.

United are moving towards a more structured footballing philosophy under the new ownership of INEOS.

The appointment of Omar Berrada as CEO, alongside potential appointments of Jason Wilcox as Technical Director and Dan Ashworth as Director of Football, signal Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s intent to overhaul the club’s structure from the top down.

This shift suggests a clear preference for a coach who focuses solely on pitch performances, leaving transfer dealings to the recruitment department.

In this context, Thiago Motta emerges as a fitting candidate.

His tactical style deemed innovative and modern, promises to inject fresh ideas into the Premier League.

Motta could be the visionary leader to spearhead the rebuild at United, aligning with the new owners’ vision for a definitive style of play.
