Former two-time NBA All-Star Isaiah Thomas is determined to make a comeback to the league after being absent for a year and a half.

The 34-year-old point guard is actively working towards securing a spot in the NBA, expressing his ongoing passion for the game.

Thomas, who last played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season, remains committed to his goal of returning to professional basketball.

In a recent interview with Mat Issa of Forbes, he affirmed, “I’m still trying to play the game of basketball. I want to get back to the NBA. So, I’m still working out and staying ready.”

Despite facing challenges and uncertainties during his hiatus, Thomas continues to showcase his dedication and perseverance in pursuing a return to the highest level of basketball competition.

While Thomas is focused on his immediate goal of returning to the NBA, he also has long-term aspirations beyond his playing career. The veteran point guard envisions himself transitioning to coaching, particularly in college basketball.

Thomas articulated, “That’s the ultimate goal. At some point, I want to be the head coach at the University of Washington. Within the next five to ten years, that would be ideal. I want to try to take the program to the heights that Coach Romar took it to.”
