Grizzlies sign Desmond Bane to multi-year extension

As it was reported earlier, the Grizzlies have officially signed wing Desmond Bane to a multi-year contract extension, the team announced. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, though according to Spotrac it’s five years, worth $205 million.

Bane, who started all 58 games last season, set career highs with averages of 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists, helping lead the Grizzlies to the playoffs.

Since being drafted in 2020, Bane leads all players in 3-point field goal percentage and holds the franchise record for free throw percentage. The 24-year-old has appeared in 202 regular-season games, averaging 16.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists.

He received All-Rookie Second Team honors in 2020-21 and participated in the Rising Stars event. The contract extension shows the Grizzlies’ confidence in Bane’s growth and impact on the team’s success.
