Ex-Laker Kendrick Nunn lands with Panathinaikos

Former NBA guard Kendrick Nunn, known for his stints with the Lakers, Heat, and Wizards, has reportedly secured a significant deal with Greek basketball powerhouse and EuroLeague side Panathinaikos, following his departure from the NBA.

Nunn’s professional journey has been characterized by various challenges, notably including a debilitating knee injury that forced him to sit out the entire 2021-22 NBA season.

Despite setbacks, he demonstrated resilience, contributing an average of 6.7 points during his tenure with the Lakers and subsequently showcasing an improved performance, averaging 7.5 points for the Wizards during the 2022-23 season.

Having initially signed a substantial two-year, $10 million contract with the Lakers in August 2021, Nunn encountered persistent injury setbacks, hampering his ability to make a notable impact within the Lakers’ lineup.

The recent move to Panathinaikos comes as an intriguing development, particularly considering earlier reports hinting at Nunn’s potential deal with Panathinaikos’ rival team, Olympiacos.

Additionally, Nunn’s skills and potential were not overlooked, as he attracted interest from other European basketball clubs, such as Valencia.
