Will You Keep Wearing a Mask on Planes and Public Transit?

On Monday, a federal judge struck down a nationwide mask mandate on airplanes, trains, buses and other public transportation. The ruling left it up to individual airlines and local transit agencies to decide what to do. By late Monday, the nation’s largest airlines had dropped their mask requirements for domestic flights, and the Amtrak rail system had lifted its mandate.

For many, the announcement was welcomed. Travelers who were already on their way when the announcement came cheered and de-masked midflight. Some employees said they had been frustrated by having to police passengers. But for others, the announcement has been met with alarm and concern about the spread of the coronavirus.

Our reporters want to know how you feel about the announcement and whether it will change your masking behavior.
