When will Kadarius Toney make his debut with Chiefs?
Wide receiver Kadarius Toney was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs. When will he make his debut with his new team?
The Kansas City Chiefs are currently on a bye week, holding a 5-2 record and first place in an AFC West division that is not as competitive as expected entering the season. The team had just defeated the San Francisco 49ers by way of their offense scoring and securing first downs at will. As the team was on a bye, the Chiefs decided to make a move ahead of the trade deadline.
On Thursday, the team acquired wide receiver Kadarius Toney from the New York Giants in exchange for their 2023 compensatory draft pick and a 2023 sixth-rounder.
Toney was selected by the Giants in the first-round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and is now on the move to Kansas City. He has dealt with his fair share of injuries, but he has shown to have electric playmaking ability when he is on the football field.
But, when will Toney debut?
When will Kadarius Toney debut with Chiefs?
That is currently unknown, as Toney was listed on the Giants’ injury report this week due to a hamstring injury.
However, ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reported that Toney “was of the belief that his hamstring was good,” but that the Giants “wanted to play it conservatively.”
The Chiefs, as mentioned earlier, are on their bye week. They return in Week 9, when they take on the Tennessee Titans on Nov. 6. Toney’s status will be worth keeping an eye on as we approach closer to that date.
Toney has only played in the first two games of the season for the Giants, catching two-of-three targets for zero yards, and ran for 23 yards on two carries. He had missed every game since due to hamstring injuries.
His Giants career ends logging 41 receptions for 420 yards and zero touchdowns.
