Thaksin returned to Thailand in 2023 after 15 years of self-imposed exile.

Thailand’s jailed former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has left a police hospital where has been detained since returning to the kingdom after 15 years of self-imposed exile, media outlets have reported.

Thaksin, 74, was seen early on Sunday in a vehicle leaving the hospital in central Bangkok, multiple outlets reported, citing witnesses.

Thailand’s Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin had earlier announced that Thaksin would be released on parole in Sunday.
