Xiaomi Mix Flip Allegedly Receives Certification in China; Price, Live Image Leaked

Xiaomi Mix Flip has allegedly received a certification from the China Compulsory Certification (3C) authority, indicating that its launch is imminent. The price details and alleged live image of the purported clamshell foldable phone have also surfaced on the Web offering a sneak peek into the design. The Xiaomi Mix Flip is tipped to run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. It could feature a 1.5K display and dual rear cameras. It is expected to be launched alongside the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4.

A Chinese tipster has spotted a Xiaomi phone with model number 2405CPX3DC on the 3C site that is believed to be the Xiaomi Mix Flip. The screenshots of the listing shared on Weibo show 67W fast charging support. The tipster claims that the phone will be priced at CNY 5,999 (roughly Rs. 69,000). This price tag would make Xiaomi’s first clamshell foldable phone more affordable than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 5 priced at Rs. 99,999.

Xiaomi’s Mix Flip is tipped to feature a 1.5K resolution display and a 4,900mAh battery. It is said to run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and could get a dual rear camera unit, comprising a 50-megapixel OV50E primary sensor and a 60-megapixel OV60A secondary sensor with a 2x optical zoom. It is likely to feature a 32-megapixel selfie sensor.

Additionally, an alleged live image of the Xiaomi Mix Flip has surfaced on the Chinese microblogging platform. The renders suggest a dual camera module with dual flash on the rear. There’s a small screen below the cameras. This render seems to be a fabricated image based on earlier schematics.

The Xiaomi Mix Flip is rumoured to go official in the third quarter of this year alongside the Xiaomi Fold 4. It is expected to launch in China and global markets excluding India and Japan.

Xiaomi Mix Flip Camera, Display and Design Details Leaked, Will Reportedly Sport 50-Megapixel Main Sensor

Xiaomi Mix Flip is expected to launch later this year. The clamshell foldable smartphone has been doing rounds of the rumour mill for the past few months but has not yet been officially announced. It is likely to launch alongside the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, which has also been tipped to launch soon. New reports suggest several key specifications of the Xiaomi Mix Flip, including its display and camera details. A design render of the rumoured handset has also been shared.

The Xiaomi Mix Flip is expected to feature a dual rear camera unit which may include a 1/1.55-inch 50-megapixel Light Hunter 800 as the primary sensor alongside a 1/2.8-inch 60-megapixel Omnivision OV60A secondary sensor with 2x optical zoom, according to an Android Headlines report. The report notes that the OV60A sensor is usually used in selfie cameras, but in the Xiaomi Mix Flip it is being used as a secondary rear camera because, with the help of the cover screen, it is expected to be used to click selfies.

The report adds that the Xiaomi Mix Flip is likely to feature a 32-megapixel OV32B sensor as the front camera sensor placed within the primary display. The same sensor has notably been used in models like the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Motorola Edge 40.

The Xiaomi Mix Flip is also likely to feature a main display with a 1.5K resolution and 520ppi pixel density, according to the report. The report also states that the handset carries the model numbers “2405CPX3DG” and “2405CPX3DC.” The “2405” at the beginning suggests that it is likely to be officially announced in May 2024.

An earlier GizmoChina report suggested that the Xiaomi Mix Flip will launch in China as well as select global markets, unlike the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, which has been tipped to only be offered in the Chinese market. However, the report notes that the Mix Flip model is unlikely to see an India launch. It adds that the handset is codenamed “Ruyi” and carries the internal model number of “N8.”

The Xiaomi Mix Flip is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, according to the older report. It also shared a possible render of the purported handset. The main display is seen with a centred hole-punch slot to house the front camera and uniform bezels. The rectangular cover screen is placed below the rear camera module. The module holds two rear camera sensors alongside LED units.

Xiaomi Mix Flip Reportedly Spotted on IMEI Database, Tipped to Sport Triple Rear Cameras

Xiaomi Mix Flip is expected to launch alongside the Mix Fold 4, becoming the company’s first clamshell foldable smartphone. The Chinese phone manufacturing company recently launched the Mix Fold 3, but is yet to officially announce a Flip model. Now, the Xiaomi Mix Flip has reportedly been spotted on the IMEI database hinting at its imminent launch. Design renders of the purported Xiaomi clamshell foldable phone were also previously leaked. The phone is expected to be a notable competitor to the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5.

An ITHome report spotted the Xiaomi Mix Flip on the IMEI database with the model number 2311BPN23C. In the screengrab shared on the Korean tech news website, the Mix Flip moniker seems to have been confirmed, which was also tipped previously.

The Xiaomi Mix Flip is said to be very thin and light, compared to other contemporary clamshell models. Notably, the Mix Fold 3 is tipped to be slimmer than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5.

An earlier GSMChina report suggested the possible design renders of the Xiaomi Mix Flip, that the publication claimed to have drawn up based on certain factory leaks. The purported handset is said to feature a triple rear camera unit, with the third camera offering 3x zooming capacities. A front camera is seen with a centre-aligned hole-punch slot at the top of the primary display.

Like most flagship phones expected to launch in 2024, the Xiaomi Mix Flip is said to be powered by a yet-unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. It is expected to be a strong competitor to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and is equipped with two 12-megapixel rear camera sensors and a 10-megapixel front camera sensor.
