Xiaomi 13 Ultra Global Launch Date Confirmed; Will Arrive on June 7

Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi 13 Ultra in China in April and now the company is all set to bring it to global markets. The upcoming Xiaomi smartphone is all set to launch next week in Hong Kong and other markets. The landing page for the phone has gone live on Xiaomi’s Hong Kong website, confirming the launch date of the device. The page also lists key specifications for the phone, but there are no details on global pricing yet.

Xiaomi has officially confirmed the global launch date for Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The smartphone is set to debut in Hong Kong on June 7. The landing page of the website shows a countdown timer for the phone’s launch.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is also expected to be launched in Europe and other markets including India in the coming weeks. The details about its launch in other markets are yet to be revealed. Xiaomi has also shared images of the phone in its green colour variant on its Hong Kong website, while also listing key specifications. The phone comes with a Leica-branded quad-camera setup sitting inside a circular camera island on the back panel.

There is no official word on global pricing for the phone. However, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is reportedly expected to launch in Europe at a price of EUR 1,499 (roughly Rs. 1,33,000) for the sole 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant. For its launch in China in April, the base variant of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage was priced at CNY 5,999 (roughly Rs. 71,600), while the mid-range 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant cost CNY 6,499 (roughly Rs. 77,500). The top-of-the-line 16GB + 1TB variant was priced at CNY 7,299 (roughly Rs. 87,000).

Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi 13 Ultra in China in April 2023. The smartphone sports a 6.73-inch AMOLED WQHD+ (3,200 x 1,440) display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 360Hz. The handset is powered by a 4nm octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with up to 16GB of LPPDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. For software support, it runs MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out-of-the-box.

For optics, Xiaomi 13 Ultra comes with the Leica-tuned rear quad camera setup led by a 50-megapixel 1-inch IMX989 primary sensor. There are also three 50-megapixel IMX858 sensors. For selfies, there is a 32-megapixel front camera.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra Design With Leather-Like Finish Revealed Ahead of Launch; Confirmed to Offer IP68 Rating

Xiaomi 13 Ultra is set to debut on April 18. Ahead of the official launch, the company has confirmed some key details about its top-of-the-line, flagship smartphone. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra was recently confirmed to feature Leica-tuned camera sensors located on the rear panel of the handset. The company recently confirmed that its upcoming flagship smartphone will feature a quad-camera setup. Xiaomi has now revealed the design of the upcoming Xiaomi 13 Ultra ahead of its debut. The new teasers confirm that the phone will launch in white and green colour options.

According to the teasers shared on Weibo, the top portion of the rear panel on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra has a two-step design. The raised section houses a large circular camera module, which features four sensors, an LED flash, as well as Leica branding at the centre. Xiaomi has already confirmed that the quad-camera setup will feature a 1-inch Sony IMX989 main camera, which is also found in the Xiaomi 13 Pro (Review).

To improve the camera experience, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will offer support for a variable aperture, which will allow users to adjust the aperture at f/1.9 or f/4.0, according to the Chinese smartphone maker. The quad rear camera setup will be comprised of three Sony IMX858 sensors.

Xiaomi has also revealed that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will have a leather-like finish on the rear panel. The design is said to give the texture and feel of a camera. The upcoming flagship smartphone will also feature an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Additional details of the upcoming flagship phone have previously been leaked in the past. The phone is said to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. It is likely to pack a 5000mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. It is said to sport a 6.7-inch WQHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support. Xiaomi 13 Ultra Design Teased Ahead of April 18 Launch; Looks More Like a Camera Than a Phone

Xiaomi 13 Ultra is scheduled to launch in China on April 18. Ahead of the launch, the Chinese manufacturer has started teasing several aspects of the phone. Most recently, the company revealed some details about the camera sensors used in the smartphone. Now, the company has given us a first official look at the design of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, and it looks more like a camera than a smartphone. The upcoming flagship is expected to succeed the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, and will feature Leica-tuned cameras.

In a recent Weibo post, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun shared a couple of promotional images of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, that teases the design of the upcoming handset. It is a silhouette image of the smartphone with a camera-like design. Jun wrote in the post, “With the blessing of this suit, the phone turns into a camera! Mi 13 Ultra has a full range of professional photography. There are so many fun things in this set,” and added that more information will be divulged and discussed at the press conference.

Even though it is not very clear, from the post, it can be assumed that the camera-like bump and grip seen in the promotional image is an external case that can be attached and detached from the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. It is important to note that the Xiaomi 12S Ultra Concept allowed users to attach a Leica M-series lens module to its body, therefore it is possible that Xiaomi will implement a similar mechanism this time.

The company says that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra “is a professional imaging device, not a camera phone.” (translated) The official post also adds that at the April 18 launch press conference a unique model of the phone will be given away for “re-evaluation.”

Earlier today, the handset was confirmed to feature Leica-tuned cameras with special Summicron lenses and Sony IMX989 and Sony IMX858 sensors. The quad camera setup will include a 50-megapixel Sony IMX989 sensor and three 50-megapixel Sony IMX858 sensors that are said to offer improved noise reduction technologies and HDR features.

According to previous reports, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. The handset will reportedly include a 6.7-inch WQHD+ AMOLED LTPO display with a refresh rate of 120Hz.

The smartphone is also tipped to come with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is expected to ship with Android 13-based MIUI 14. It could also house a 4,900mAh battery with 90W fast charging capabilities, as per leaked reports.
