Vivo S18 Pro, Vivo S18 and Vivo S18e With AMOLED Screens, 50-Megapixel Cameras Launched: Price, Specifications

Vivo S18 series — comprising the Vivo S18, Vivo S18 Pro, and Vivo S18e — was launched in China on Thursday. Two of the handsets are powered by MediaTek chips, while the third is equipped with a Snapdragon processor. The Vivo S18 series is equipped with AMOLED screens and features 50-megapixel primary cameras. All three handsets in the series support charging at 80W over USB Type-C ports and run on Android 14 with the Vivo’s OriginOS 4 skin running on top.

Vivo S18 Pro, Vivo S18, Vivo S18e price and availability

Vivo S18 pricing starts at CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 27,400) for the 8GB+256GB RAM and storage configuration, while the phone also comes in 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB variants priced at CNY 2,599 (roughly Rs. 30,600) and CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs. 33,000), respectively. The top-of-the-line model with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage costs CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 35,400).

Meanwhile, the Vivo S18 Pro is available in 12GB+256GB, 16GB+256GB, and 16GB+512GB variants that are priced at CNY 3,199 (roughly Rs. 37,700), CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs. 40,900), and CNY 3,699 (roughly Rs. 43,300), respectively.

The Vivo S18e is available in a 12GB+256GB model priced at CNY 2,099 (roughly Rs. 24,900) and a 12GB+512GB variant that costs CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 27,400). 

Vivo S18 Pro, Vivo S18 specifications 

Both the Vivo S18 and Vivo S18 Pro run on Android 14-based OriginOS 4 out-of-the-box and sport 6.78-inch full-HD+ (1,260×2,800 pixels) curved AMOLED screens with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 2,800 nits. The standard model is equipped with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip, while the Vivo S18 Pro is powered by a Dimensity 9200+ processor. The Vivo S18 and Vivo S18 Pro are equipped with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 and LPDDR5X RAM, respectively.  

The Vivo S18 has a 50-megapixel primary camera with an OmniVision OV50E sensor and f/1.88 aperture, along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an OmniVision OV08D10 sensor with an f/2.2 aperture.

On the other hand, the Vivo S18 Pro has a 50-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.55-inch Sony IMX920 sensor and an f/1.88 aperture, along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a Samsung JN1 sensor and an f/2.0 aperture. It also has a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with a Sony IMX663 sensor, 2x optical zoom and an f/1.98 aperture. Both phones have a 50-megapixel selfie camera on the front for selfies and video calls, with an f/2.0 aperture. 

The Vivo S18 and Vivo S18 Pro offer up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Both handsets have an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance. They are equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging. They measure 164.36×75.1×7.45mm and the standard model weighs 185.8g — it is 2g lighter than the Pro model.

Vivo S18e specifications

Vivo S18e has some specifications in common with the other two models in the series. The phone sports a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED screen with flat edges and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by a Dimensity 7200 chip with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM with up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

For optics, the Vivo S18e is equipped with a 50-megapixel primary camera with a Sony LYT-600 sensor and an f/1.79 aperture. It also has a 2-megapixel sensor for gathering depth information. On the front, the phone gets a 16-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.4 aperture.

The smartphone shares the same connectivity specifications as the Vivo S18 and Vivo S18 Pro. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor for a biometric authentication and has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. The phone packs a 4,600mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging. Besides, it measures 162.35×74.85×7.69mm and weighs 193g.

Vivo S18 Images Leak Online Ahead of December 14 Launch; Suggests Aura-LED Lights, New Colours

Vivo S18 series is set to launch in China on December 14. The series, succeeding the Vivo S17 lineup launched in May this year, is confirmed to come with three models – a base Vivo S18, Vivo S18 Pro, and the Vivo S18e. The company has teased the design and colour options of the upcoming handsets and revealed some key specifications about each of them. Now, more images of the phones have surfaced online suggesting new colour options.

A Gizmochina report shared images of the Vivo S18 series in newer colour options. Vivo had recently also revealed the design and colour options of the handsets. However, the new leaked images show the phones in black and grey colours with flower-like patterns on the back panel. In the images, the Aura-LED flash unit, placed below the camera module is seen to be lit up.

The report does not specify the model, but it is likely to be the Vivo S18 Pro. On the official microsite for the upcoming phones, the base Vivo S18 was seen in black, green, and purple colour options, while the Vivo S18 Pro was teased in a green and purple colour variant. The green and purple options of the base model showed the flower patterns on the back panel, while the darker variant is seen with a solid black colour, with no patterns.

According to 91Mobiles, these images were posted by the company on their official Weibo profile. However, at the time of writing this, the images were not found on Vivo’s page on the microblogging site. The images have however been circulated online. Twitter user Anvin (@ZionsAnvin) shared the said images.

Earlier, when the company had confirmed the launch date of the Vivo S18 series, it also revealed several key specifications of the upcoming products. The base Vivo S18 will come with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset and a 5,000mAh battery, while the Pro model will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC. Meanwhile, the Vivo S18e will get a 4,800mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging support. The phones are also confirmed to feature curved OLED displays with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

Vivo China President Jia Jingdong confirmed that the Vivo S18 Pro will be equipped with a Sony 50-megapixel VCS bionic IMX920 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support, another 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 sensor with an ultra-wide lens, and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 portrait shooter. It will also include a 50-megapixel front camera sensor alongside dual flash units.

Vivo S18 Series Design, Colour Options Revealed, Shows Triple Rear Cameras

Vivo S18 series with two entries is confirmed to launch in China soon. Vivo has not announced the exact launch date, but it has posted a new teaser image on the Chinese microblogging platform suggesting the design and colour options of the upcoming handsets. The Vivo S18 series is confirmed to come in at least two finishes. It is seen with a triple rear camera unit with VCS branding. The Vivo S18 and Vivo S18 Pro are expected to succeed the Vivo S17 and Vivo S17 Pro that went official in May this year.

The teaser posted on Weibo by Vivo’s Vice President Ouyang Weifeng shows the Vivo S18 series handsets in Porcelain and Jade (translated from Chinese) shades with curved screens. The upcoming models look like the Vivo S17 smartphones that we’ve seen so far. It has a triple rear camera unit with Aura lighting around the camera module that is claimed to adjust brightness for better night portraits. It houses a squared-shaped LED flash as well. The camera unit has VCS branding and it is confirmed to offer optical image stabilisation (OIS).

Vivo recently confirmed the arrival of the Vivo S18 lineup in the country via a Weibo post. The company, however, didn’t disclose the exact launch date, or the key specifications of the handsets.

Vivo S18, Vivo S18 Pro Launch Confirmed; Key Specifications Leaked Online

Vivo S18 series is expected to launch soon as a successor to the Vivo S17 lineup, which was launched in China in May this year. The company has now officially teased the launch of the Vivo S18 series. It is confirmed to come with Vivo’s Blue Heart AI assistant. While the company has not revealed too many details about the upcoming phones, several leaks have suggested their key specifications. A schematic design render of the Vivo S18 lineup has also surfaced online.

In a Weibo post, Vivo confirmed that the Vivo S18 series will launch soon with its in-house Blue Heart AI assistant. The poster shared by the company shows the side profile of the Vivo S18, which confirms a slightly raised camera module at the back.

Although an exact date for the launch has not been announced, a tip by Weibo user Why Lab suggests that the Vivo S18 series will carry the thinnest 5000mAh battery-backed handset in 2023, which implies that the lineup will be unveiled in December this year. Another post from the same user claims that aside from the 5,000mAh battery, the base model will carry a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC and have a panel equipped with a peak brightness level of 2,800 nits.

The Vivo S18 Pro, on the other hand, is expected to get a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX920 sensor. The high-end model is also said to focus “on thin and light portrait selfies” (translated from Chinese), which could hint at an upgraded front camera sensor. It is also expected to pack a similar battery. Both phones are also expected to support 80W wired fast charging support. They are said to come with AMOLED displays and offer Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.

Finally, tipster Digital Chat Station added that the Vivo S18 models will also come with a 50-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens and another telephoto lens. A schematic design render shared by the tipster also shows two separate rectangular cutouts with rounded edges arranged vertically on the top left corner of the back panel of a Vivo S18 model.
