Redmi Note 12 4G is the latest Note 12 series phone to launch in India as the other three devices were previously released in the country. The company also recently launched the Redmi Note 12 Turbo handset with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset in China. The Turbo model also came in a Harry Potter special variant, but the company has not yet said anything about the global or Indian release of the Note 12 Turbo.

Redmi Note 12 4G price in India, availability

Available in two storage variants, the 6GB + 64GB model of the Redmi Note 12 4G is priced at Rs. 14,999. Xiaomi is offering a Rs. 1,000 discount on purchase using ICICI bank cards, bringing the price down to Rs. 13,999. The company is also offering a loyalty discount of Rs. 1,500.

The 6GB + 128GB variant of the Redmi Note 12 4G is priced at Rs. 16,999, with similar discount offers available as the lower-end variant. The phone is offered in three colour options – Lunar Black, Frosted Ice Blue, and Sunrise Gold. The smartphone will be available for purchase starting April 6 at 12 PM IST through Amazon, the official mi.com website, and retail stores.

Redmi Note 12 4G specifications, features

The 4G-supported dual nano SIM Redmi Note 12 4G sports a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a touch sampling rate of 240Hz, and a peak brightness of 1200 nits. The smartphone boots Android 13-based MIUI 14.

Powered by a 6nm octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 SoC with an integrated Adreno 610 GPU, the Redmi Note 12 4G smartphone also comes equipped with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of UFS2.2 storage, which is expandable by microSD card up to 1TB.

The newly-launched Redmi smartphone features a triple rear camera unit housed in a rectangular module on the top-left of the back panel, that also houses an LED flash unit. The rear camera unit includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. Housed in a centrally aligned punch-hole slot at the top of the display, the Redmi Note 12 4G has a 13-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.

For connectivity, the handset supports GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, and Bluetooth 5.0. It comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port as well. For security, the Redmi Note 12 4G has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor in place on the right side edge of the device.

Redmi’s Note 12 4G packs a 5,000mAh battery and offers 33W fast charging support. The phone comes with an IP53 rating, weighs 183.5 grams, and measures 165.66mm x 75.96mm x 7.85mm in size.

Redmi Note 12 4G Teased in a New Colour Option Ahead of March 30 Launch: Details

Redmi Note 12 4G is set to launch in India on March 30. Ahead of its debut in the country, Xiaomi has started revealing some of the handset’s key features and related details. The Redmi Note 12 4G will join the Redmi Note 12 family that was announced earlier this year, and will be the first model in the series without support for 5G connectivity. Redmi has already revealed the chipset and other key specifications including the storage capacity and more, along with the design of the smartphone.

Xiaomi India Head of Design and Content Sandeep Sarma has now teased a new colour option for the Redmi Note 12 4G. The colourway has a gradient effect with a mix of blue, pink and gold. The phone also has gold accents for the camera hump and the side rails. The smartphone appears to have a matte finish for the rear. The overall design of the smartphone is very similar to the 5G variants of the Redmi Note 12 series, having identical flat sides and camera hump design.

Along with this colour option, Xiaomi India will also offer the handset in an orange colour variant that also appears to have a gradient effect. The company is yet to reveal all the colour options for the upcoming Redmi Note 12 4G.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi India has published a webpage detailing some of the specifications and features of the upcoming phone prior to the launch event on March 30. The Redmi Note 12 4G, similar to its 5G siblings, will feature a large 120Hz AMOLED display. Since it is a 4G smartphone, Xiaomi India will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 685 SoC. The company claims the smartphone to feature up to 11GB of RAM, which is inclusive of the “Virtual RAM” expansion feature that utilises uunused storage for additional memory.

The Redmi Note 12 4G will also feature a triple rear camera system, and the primary camera will consist of a 50-megapixel sensor. Xiaomi has also confirmed that it has equipped the handset with a 5,000mAh capacity battery that will come with support for 33W wired charging out of the box.

Prices are yet to be announced but the Redmi Note 12 4G is expected to make its debut as the most affordable variant of the Redmi Note 12 series in India.

Redmi Note 12 4G Design Renders Leaked; Live Image Suggests Key Specifications

Redmi Note 12 4G launch could be imminent. Xiaomi is yet to confirm any official details about the launch of the new Redmi Note 12 series smartphone at the time of writing. However, new leaks about the upcoming Redmi Note 12 4G have surfaced online. The Redmi Note 12 4G design renders have leaked online. As per the leaked details, the phone could launch in three different colour options. Xiaomi is also expected to launch the Redmi Note 12 4G with a design that is similar to its Pro counterparts.

The Redmi Note 12 4G appears to have a flat frame with curved corners. The rear panel, too, is supposedly flat and houses a triple-camera setup, suggests the leaked renders. The Redmi Note 12 4G could launch in three colour options, according to tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore. The tipster uploaded the design renders of the phone, which suggests its design from all sides.

As per the leak, the Redmi Note 12 4G could launch in Blue, Grey and Green colour options. The phone’s power and volume buttons are seen on the right edge, whereas the SIM tray is on the left. At the bottom, there appears to be the USB Type-C port, primary speaker grille, and a microphone cutout. The top edge is seen housing the 3.5mm audio jack, an IR blaster, and a cutout for the secondary microphone.

On the front, the phone appears to have a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. The chin bezel is seen to be slightly thicker than the rest of the bezels around the display. The tipster also uploaded a live image of the phone with the ‘About Phone’ settings page. It suggests that the Redmi Note 12 4G could have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 SoC. The chipset is said to be an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 680 SoC and have a peak clock speed of 2.8GHz.

Furthermore, the leak hints that the Redmi Note 12 4G will have 4GB of RAM and 3GB of virtual RAM support. The device is said to launch with Android 13 out-of-the-box and have MIUI 14 on top.

Xiaomi is expected to launch the handset soon in global markets. The Redmi Note 12 4G could also launch soon in India.
