Oppo Reno 12, Reno 12 Pro New Renders Leak Ahead of Launch Next Week, Show Three Colour Options

Oppo Reno 12 series is all set to go official on May 23 and the Chinese tech brand is teasing its design through Weibo. Just a week before the official launch, more renders of the Oppo Reno 12 lineup have leaked on the Web. They show the Oppo Reno 12 and Oppo Reno 12 Pro from multiple angles in three distinct colour options. Both phones have an identical design with hole-punch displays and triple rear cameras.

Tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) shared alleged renders of Oppo Reno 12 and Oppo Reno 12 Pro on X (formerly Twitter). The renders show the phones in three colour options. The standard model appears to have black, pink and silver colourways. The Pro model is shown in black, pink and purple shades.

The Oppo Reno 12 appears to have a gradient pink shade, while the Reno 12 Pro seems to have a matte finish pink. Whilst there is a slight difference in finishes, they look almost identical. The phones are seen with hole-punch displays, slightly curved corners, narrow bezels, and triple rear camera units. The large rectangular camera module includes “AI Camera System” text engraved.

Oppo earlier this week announced that Reno 12 series will launch in China on May 23 at 4pm local time (1:30pm IST). As per past leaks, the handsets will feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor and a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom. They are rumoured to come with a 50-megapixel selfie shooter.

A MediaTek Dimensity 8250 SoC could power the Oppo Reno 12. The Oppo Reno 12 Pro variant is said to run on MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset. The Pro model is expected to sport a 6.7-inch 120Hz 1.5K display and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired fast charging.

Oppo Reno 12 Pro Key Specifications Leak Online; Tipped to Get Dimensity 9200+ SoC, 1.5K Display

Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G with MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC was launched in India last month. Now, rumours about its possible successor — Oppo Reno 12 Pro — have started surfacing on the Web. The purported Reno 12 series phone is expected to come with notable upgrades over the Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G. The Oppo Reno 12 Pro is tipped to come with a 1.5K resolution display. It is said to be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9200+ chipset and could include a 5,000mAh battery.

Tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese) posted (via ITHome) alleged specifications of the Oppo Reno 12 Pro. As per the leak, the handset will boast a 6.7-inch display with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It could run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9200+ SoC. It is tipped to house a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W charging. This contradicts previous rumours that hinted at 67W charging.

The Oppo Reno 12 Pro is said to feature a triple rear camera unit, comprising a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 50-megapixel portrait sensor with 2x optical zoom. It is tipped to get a 50-megapixel selfie camera. This would be a significant upgrade over Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G’s camera setup, which includes a 50-megapixel primary Sony IMX890 sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), alongside a 32-megapixel telephoto camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera.

The Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G was released in India in January with a price tag of Rs. 39,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage option. The handset was initially launched in China in November last year. The Chinese variant is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

The Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G runs on Android-14 based ColorOS 14 and features 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz dynamic refresh rate. Oppo Reno 12, Oppo Reno 12 Pro Key Specifications Leaked; Could Get 50-Megapixel Telephoto Camera: Report

Oppo launched the Oppo Reno 11 and the Oppo Reno 11 Pro less than a month ago. Now, a new report claims to reveal the key specifications of its successor, the Oppo Reno 12 series. The details reportedly come from an internal document leak, which claims that the smartphone series could sport a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. The document also mentions that the handsets could be launched in June 2024. The report, however, does not mention the price of the devices.

The alleged leaked document was obtained by MSPowerUser, which reported the key specifications of both the phones. Interestingly, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro is said to be equipped with a chipset named ‘MediaTek Dimension 9200′, with the technical name MTK DX2. However, that code refers to the MediaTek Dimensity 9200. In contrast, the vanilla Oppo Reno 12 could run on a chipset named MKT 24M, which does not match any existing processor by the company. We, at Gadgets 360, were not able to access the alleged document or verify any of its claims.

As per the report, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro could feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and curved edges on the rear glass back. The smartphone might sport a triple rear camera unit, led by a 50-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). Other cameras include an 8-megapixel sensor and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.

On the front, it could get a 50-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus. The alleged document claims that the handset will get 12GB of RAM and two inbuilt storage variants of 256GB and 512GB. It could be backed by a 5,000mAh battery, with 67W charging support. The document also mentions an IP65 rating.

In contrast, the vanilla Oppo Reno 12 might get a 6.7-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Just like the display specifications, the smartphone reportedly gets the same camera unit as the Pro variant. However, one difference is that the front camera will not have autofocus, as per the report. The handset could feature 12GB RAM along with 256GB inbuilt storage. A 5,000mAh battery, with 67W charging support, could back the device.

Based on the leak, the only two differences between the Oppo Reno 12 and the Oppo Reno 12 Pro appear to be the chipset and autofocus feature in the front camera. Another piece of information that reportedly came from the document was that the smartphones could be launched in June 2024. However, it must be said that it is very early into the development cycle of the Oppo Renno 11 series successor, and a lot might change by the time the handsets are launched.
