Honor X50 GT was launched in China on Thursday, January 4. The handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and is backed by a 5,800mAh battery with 35W wired fast charging support. Offered in Fantasy Night Black and Silver Winged God of War (translated from Chinese) colour options, the Honor X50 GT price in China starts at CNY 2,199 (roughly Rs. 25,600) for its 12GB + 256GB variant. The phone is also available in configurations of 16GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB, priced respectively at CNY 2,399 (roughly Rs. 27,900), CNY 2,599 (roughly Rs. 30,200), and CNY 2,899 (roughly Rs. 33,700).

The Honor X50 GT is currently available for pre-orders in China and will go on sale in the country starting January 9 via the official website. The company is also offering a limited-time discount of CNY 200 (roughly Rs. 2,300).

The newly launched Honor handset features a 6.78-inch 1.5K (2,652 x 1,200 pixels) curved OLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a PWM dimming rate of 1,920Hz, a touch sampling rate of 1,000Hz, a peak brightness level of 1,200 nits, and HDR10 support.

Honor X50 GT is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC paired with an Adreno 730 GPU, up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of onboard storage. The phone ships with Android 13-based MagicOS 7.2.

In the camera department, the Honor X50 GT is equipped with a 108-megapixel Samsung HM6 primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor at the back, while the front camera uses an 8-megapixel sensor. The dual rear camera system is accompanied by a dual LED flash unit.

Honor has packed a 5,800mAh battery in the X50 GT with support for 35W wired fast charging via a USB Type-C port. The dual nano SIM-supported phone also offers 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, and GPS connectivity. For security, it is equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone arrives with an IP53 rating for dust and splash resistance. The handset weighs 192g and measures 163.6mm x 75.5mm x 7.98mm in size.

Honor X50 GT Design Officially Revealed, Key Specifications Leaked; Launch Set for January 4

Honor X50 GT has been confirmed to launch in China soon. The phone is expected to join the Honor X50 lineup that includes the Honor X50, Honor X50i, and Honor X50i+. The Honor X50 GT will succeed the Honor X40 GT, which was unveiled in October 2022. The company has now announced the launch date and the design of the smartphone. It also teased the colour options of the upcoming handset. Meanwhile, a few key specifications of the model have leaked online.

Honor CMO Harrison Zhang confirmed in a Weibo post that the Honor X50 GT will launch in China on January 4 at 7:30pm local time (5pm IST). The phone is listed on the Honor China website as well. The announcement poster and the listing reveal the design of the handset. It is confirmed to launch in Magic Night Black and Silver Wings Ares (translated from Chinese) colour options.

The image of the Honor X50 GT shows a large, circular, centrally placed rear camera module, similar to the one seen in the base Honor X50 model. The curved display is seen with a centred hole-punch display at the top of the panel. The power button and volume rockers are seen on the right side of the handset.

Honor X50 GT is confirmed to come with a 1/1.67-inch 108-megapixel primary rear camera sensor with an f/1.75 aperture, as seen embedded on the back panel. The silver colour variant of the phone is seen with a yellow racing stripe that runs across the middle of the back panel.

Meanwhile, tipster Digital Chat Station noted in a Weibo post that the Honor X50 GT is likely to come with a 6.78-inch OLED panel with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is said to ship with Android 13-based MagicOS 7.2.

The tipster adds that the Honor X50 GT could launch with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. It is said to pack a 5,800mAh battery with 35W wired fast charging and likely carry a 5100mm² VC cooling unit. More features are expected to surface online closer to the day of the launch.

Honor X50 GT, Honor 90 GT Could Launch Soon, Specifications Tipped

Honor has launched a number of smartphones over the past few weeks. On November 23, the Honor 100 series was unveiled in China. It included a base Honor 100 and the Honor 100 Pro. Soon after, the Honor X7b and Honor Magic 6 Lite 5G were launched in quick succession of one another. However, the latter model has only been listed on Honor’s Italy website till now and Honor has not yet confirmed the China or global launch of the handset. According to recent leaks, the company is expected to introduce two more phones in China later this month.

A Weibo user with the username ‘The Factory Director is Mr. Guan’ (translated from Chinese) shared in a post that the Honor X50 GT and the Honor 90 GT are likely to be announced in China later this month. These models are expected to succeed the Honor X40 GT and Honor 80 GT, respectively. The leak adds that the Honor 90GT will launch as a mid-range product, while the Honor X50GT will likely be a relatively budget offering.

Another tipster, Cai Ge Talks About Digital, suggested that the Honor 90 GT will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and carry up to 24GB of RAM. The phone is expected to support dual speakers and optical image stabilisation (OIS). The performance and display features of the phone are expected to come with improvements over the preceding model. The leak adds that the phone may also launch alongside a Honor 90 GT+ model.

To jog your memory, the Honor 80 GT launched with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC paired with Adreno 730 GPU and up to 16GB of RAM. It featured a triple rear camera unit with a 54-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. This model is backed by a 4,800mAh battery with 66W wired SuperFast charging support.

Meanwhile, the Honor X40 GT is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and packs a 4,800mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging. The phone carries a 50-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and another 2-megapixel macro shooter.
