Stephen A. Smith on Zion Williamson: “He looks fat!”
Renowned sports analyst Stephen A. Smith didn’t mince words as he criticized New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson for what he perceives as visible weight issues.
Smith expressed his concerns after attending the NBA In-Season Tournament semifinal, where the Lakers dominated the Pelicans with a score of 133-89.
“He looks fat! My brother, you’ve been in the news with some other stuff, your proclivities and who you want to mess with and all that stuff is your damn business,” Smith exclaimed.
“But this is necessary. Zion Williamson went to the free-throw line the other day in rout while LeBron James had dropped 30 in three quarters and completely dominated and looked in peak physical condition and looked like an absolute stud and superstar and marquee.”
Smith criticized Williamson, who is more than 15 years younger but 40 pounds heavier than James, highlighting a visible belly and questioning the player’s physical condition.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I saw a belly. A belly. Like, when he took a deep breath, his belly bounced. That kind of belly. I mean, damn. Damn. What’s up Zion?”
Additionally, Smith slammed Williamson as a ‘manchild’ and criticized him for not demonstrating leadership during the Pelicans’ crushing defeat by the Lakers.
