Stars from bitter rivals Liverpool move into Sir Alex Ferguson’s luxury street – Man United News And Transfer News
Legendary former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson finds himself surrounded by four Liverpool stars.
Anfield keeper Alisson Becker and defender Joe Gomez joined full-back Andy Robertson and midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the private road (via The Sun).
The Scouse foursome are residents of the exclusive area in Wilmslow, Cheshire. Their luxury properties are just a stones throw away from Sir Alex.
Sir Alex Ferguson once proclaimed that his biggest challenge as United manager was “knocking Liverpool right off their f*g perch.”
It’s a feat that remains one of the most celebrated feathers in his cap.
However, accolades and bravado aside, Sir Alex will have to come to terms with sharing his space with the Liverpudlians for the foreseeable future.
Eternal rivalry
According to the Sun, a source said, “Sir Alex spent most of his career at loggerheads with Liverpool managers, Liverpool players, and Liverpool fans.”
“He lives in a wonderful secluded private road — but in recent years, it’s caught the eye of some of the Liverpool lads.”
“Andy Robertson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain moved in first.”
“Now, the other lads have moved in, and they are joking that they are trying to keep their head down, so Sir Alex doesn’t give them the hairdryer treatment.”
Sir Alex’s saving grace
The threat of Sir Alex Ferguson‘s hairdryer treatment is enough to keep any tomfoolery at bay.
At the very least, Sir Alex can take solace from the moral support of United star Raphael Varane – another resident and neighbour on the same road.
