Splatoon 3 Side Order DLC Finally Gets Served Up in February

Nintendo has announced that Splatoon 3 players will have more to chomp on when its Side Order DLC launches for Nintendo Switch on February 22, 2024.

The company announced the release date for its latest addition to the squid-y multiplayer game with a trailer today. It’s a short and sweet look at what’s to come, as we see our hero Inkling whisked away to what seems to be a colorless Matrix version of Splatoon 2’s Inkopolis Square hub area. It’s story content that continues to be shrouded in mystery and asks players to take control of Agent 8 once again.

As stated on the Splatoon 3 website, players who pick up Side Order will be treated to a new single-player campaign.

“Alongside a drone who claims to be Off the Hook member Pearl, Agent 8 must fight off waves of enemies in floor after floor of challenges on their way to the top of the Spire and learn its secrets,” the description says. “Use color chips to boost your abilities in this experience that’s designed to be replayed over and over.”

Splatoon 3 launched in September 2022, bringing more story, characters, locations, and of course, multiplayer features. Although multiplayer gameplay is the Nintendo shooter’s bread and butter, DLC content has continued to give players other things to enjoy.

Those who own the all-encompassing Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass have already received access to its first Wave: Inkopolis Plaza. The content gave players the option to revisit the original game’s hub world, adding new shopkeepers and performances from the Squid Sisters during Splatfests.

Side Order is part of Wave 2 and should satiate those hungry for more solo content as seasonal updates continue. In our original Splatoon 3 single-player review, we said that the “campaign features a fresh take on an open hub world design, mixing in short but satisfying missions to let you experiment with different weapons and abilities.”
