The Los Angeles Lakers’ starting lineup for the upcoming 2023-24 NBA season is taking shape, with key decisions being made by head coach Darvin Ham.

While Anthony Davis and LeBron James are all but guaranteed starters for the Purple and Gold, the team’s starting point guard role has been claimed by D’Angelo Russell, and Austin Reaves is expected to secure the shooting guard position.

Now, it appears that Rui Hachimura is the frontrunner for the final starting spot.

According to a report by Jovan Buha of The Athletic, insiders have indicated that Hachimura is the internal favorite to secure the third starting frontcourt spot for the Lakers in the upcoming season.

During the previous season, the Japanese international averaged 9.6 points and 4.7 rebounds in 22.4 minutes per game. He started in nine out of the 33 games he played for the Lakers.
