This will be the second game of the 2023 preseason for both the Giants and the Panthers. New York is coming off a 21-16 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 1, while the Panthers were dismantled by the Jets a week ago, 27-0.

The Giants, of course, closed out the 2022 season with a 9-7-1 record and a playoff victory over the Minnesota Vikings. The Panthers went 7-10 and missed the postseason.

  • Point spread: Giants -3
  • Money line: -160 Giants / +135 Panthers
  • Over-under: 39

Giants vs. Panthers injury report:

There are no official injury reports released during the preseason but the Panthers will be without wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. (back), quarterback Andy Dalton (back), and running back Miles Sanders (groin). The Giants are also likely to be short several players, including wide receiver Colling Johnson (knee), defensive lineman Ryder Anderson (triceps), and offensive lineman Tyre Phillips (leg).

Advice and prediction

The Giants and Panthers are both likely to play their starters for a series or two on Friday night (if not more) before bringing in the backups and then deeper reserves. It won’t be too pretty for either side as they continue to shake off rust and run plays that weren’t scripted or game-planned beforehand.

We suggested betting the over last week and it went over. This week, we suggest the same.

Prediction: Giants 23, Panthers 20
