Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Remake Release Date Announced on MAR10 Day

In celebration of Mario Day 2024, Nintendo announced that the remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door will be released on Switch on May 23, 2024.

The news was announced with a short glimpse of Mario on stage with a bunch of our other favorite Mushroom Kingdom characters in the audience.

This much-anticipated remake was announced in September 2023 and brings forward the beloved RPG from Intelligent Systems that was first released on GameCube in 2004.

In our original Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door review, we said, “The story is funny, the gameplay varied, and the world so charming, you’ll want to explore every last corner of it. Add to that plenty of playable characters and sidekicks, some great cameos, a memorable score loaded with classic melodies, and a quest that runs a good 30 hours long, and you’ve got another winning offshoot in the mighty Mario franchise.”

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door wasn’t the only classic title that got some love on MAR10 Day 2024, as it was also confirmed that Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD will be released on Switch on June 27, 2024.
