One player New York Giants would steal from Dallas Cowboys

The New York Giants (0-0) will host the Dallas Cowboys (0-0) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday night to open the season.

That, of course, provides those of us here at Giants Wire the opportunity to hypothetically steal from the Cowboys’ roster in search of depth and/or talent upgrades for Big Blue.

Dallas has an impressive and deep roster, including at several areas of need for the Giants. Someone like guard Zack Martin would come in and start immediately, shoring up one of the remaining issues along the offensive line. There’s also the dynamic talent that is wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

But we all know where this is going… If you could steal only one player from the Cowboys it would have to be linebacker Micah Parsons, as we’ve said before.

While we don’t view Parsons on the Lawrence Taylor level, his impact on the modern game can not be ignored or dismissed. He is an elite pass rusher and also more than capable in coverage. He’s also improved significantly as a run defender but still has some flaws when it comes to tackling — an area he regressed in a year ago.

Still, if the only knock on Parsons is that he’s an average open-field tackler, that shows you how game-changing he is.

With the Giants, Parsons would join the duo of Kayvon Thibodeaux and Azeez Ojulari, creating an impressive triple threat. And as both Jerry Reese and Tom Coughlin used to say, “You can never have too many pass rushers.”

What are your thoughts, Giants fans? Would you pick Micah Parsons or would you steal an entirely different player from the Dallas Cowboys?
