Nuggets coach Mike Malone enters league protocols, unavailable against Blazers on Tuesday
Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone has entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols and will be out indefinitely.
With that, the team announced that he won’t be available to call the shots against the Portland Trail Blazers this Tuesday. Assistant coach David Adelman will temporarily sit in to lead the Nuggets in his place.
This season, Malone spectacularly guided the Nuggets to a 30-13 record so far, tied with the Memphis Grizzlies on the best record in the Western Conference.
The 51-year-old Malone has been on the Denver sidelines since 2015, wherein he holds 344 wins out of 598 games as the club’s head coach (.575% win rate) within eight seasons.
