NFL Week 16 Survivor Pool Picks

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars have picked up back-to-back wins against playoff-caliber teams, and now they get a matchup with the reeling New York Jets, who will have Zach Wilson at quarterback again.

This is a short week, and the Jets are watching their playoff chances slip away with each game. I have zero confidence in Wilson, who has already been benched this season, to pull off this win.

For the Jags, Trevor Lawrence is playing the best football of his career, orchestrating a huge comeback win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 15. The Jags still have a shot to win the division, and I think they’re a sneaky survivor play in Week 16. – Peter Dewey

Miami Dolphins

If you still have the Miami Dolphins left, now is the time to use them.

Don’t let their recent losing streak fool you, the Dolphins are still an elite team and their stats back up them getting back in the win column.

The Green Bay Packers may have taken down the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football, but now they need to head South on a short week and take on the most explosive offense in the NFL. Miami will get the job done and end the Packers playoff hopes. – Iain MacMillan

Tennessee Titans

It must be exhausting to be the Houston Texans right now.

After nearly pulling off two monster upsets on the road versus the Dallas Cowboys, and back home against the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime, the Texans head back on the road to face a Titans team that’s dominated them.

Tennessee has won five of the last six games against Houston, and Derrick Henry has run for 200-plus yards in four straight games against the Titans, averaging 223 YPG!

Houston remains dead-last in the NFL by a wide margin in stopping the run, so I see no reason to get off the train now, especially as a touchdown favorite at home. – Ben Heisler

San Francisco 49ers

The Washington Commanders were exposed on Sunday Night Football for what they are: a middling team hanging on for a Wild Card spot.

Since Week 5, Washington has beaten one team that is over .500, a somewhat flukey win against the league best Philadelphia Eagles.
Now, the Commanders hit the road on a short week to face arguably the best defense in the league in the San Francisco 49ers, who are in a battle for the No. 2 seed in the NFC and had extra time to prepare after beating the Seattle Seahawks last Thursday.

The 49ers defense is first in EPA/Play this season and I don’t expect the Commanders to hold up against the talent of the San Francisco skill position players. – Reed Wallach
