If the Bears aren’t going to let Fields play football, what’s the point of this season in Chicago?

Kenny Pickett

Last Week: NA Pittsburgh Steelers

2022 stats: 120 yards | 76.9 comp % | 0 TD | 3 INT | 9.2 YPA | 28.4 QBR

Pickett threw 10 passes. Seven were caught by Steelers. Three were caught by the Jets.

Baker Mayfield

Last Week: 29 Carolina Panthers

2022 stats: 747 yards | 54.7 comp % | 4 TD | 3 INT | 6.4 YPA | 15.4 QBR

Mayfield has been a disaster. The Panthers were hoping for so much more.

Zach Wilson

Last Week: NA New York Jets

2022 stats: 252 yards | 50.0 comp % | 1 TD | 2 INT | 7.0 YPA | 53.4 QBR

Wilson played well enough late to pull off an upset win in Pittsburgh, but he has to be more consistent as the year goes on.

Jacoby Brissett

Last Week: 27 Cleveland Browns

Brissett played reasonably well against the Falcons. Cleveland can’t ask for more than what it’s gotten so far.

Daniel Jones

Last Week: 26 New York Giants

Can Jones play this weekend after spraining his ankle? The Giants need him to have any shot against the Packers.

Davis Mills

Mills was fun as a rookie, but he’s regressing for Houston in his second campaign. Too many mistakes.

Andy Dalton

Last Week: NA New Orleans Saints

Dalton is the quintessential backup quarterback. He’s fine in that role, but certainly nothing more at this juncture of his career.

Teddy Bridgewater

Last Week: NA Miami Dolphins

Bridgewater is more than capable of winning a few games while Tua Tagovialoa recovers from his concussion. First up, the Jets.

Carson Wentz

Last Week: 20 Washington Commanders

2022 stats: 1,031 yards | 62.2 comp % | 8 TD | 5 INT | 6.0 YPA | 35.8 QBR

Wentz simply takes too many sacks, and throws too many interceptions. They’re chronic problems.

Marcus Mariota

Last Week: 21 Atlanta Falcons

2022 stats: 779 yards | 58.2 comp % | 3 TD | 4 INT | 7.9 YPA | 49.6 QBR

Mariota somehow completed seven passes and won last week. He’s got to be much better against Tampa Bay.

Cooper Rush

Last Week: 28 Dallas Cowboys

2022 stats: 737 yards | 60.8 comp % | 4 TD | 0 INT | 7.2 YPA | 74.0 QBR

Rush keeps winning. He’s not terrific, but as far as backups go, he’s doing a fantastic job. That said, Dak Prescott is getting his job back.

Matt Ryan

Last Week: 19 Indianapolis Colts

At what point do the turnovers stop? The stats look solid, but the film is awful.

Jimmy Garoppolo

Last Week: 18 San Francisco 49ers

2022 stats: 365 yards | 62.0 comp % | 2 TD | 1 INT | 7.3 YPA | 28.9 QBR

Garoppolo needs to simply play point guard. Throw to Deebo Samuel, throw to George Kittle and hand the ball off.

Geno Smith

Last Week: 25 Seattle Seahawks

Smith has been one of the feel-good stories of the year. Who had him completing more than 77 percent of his throws through four games?

Ryan Tannehill

Last Week: 17 Tennessee Titans

2022 stats: 784 yards | 66.3 comp % | 5 TD | 3 INT | 7.8 YPA | 47.9 QBR

Tannehill is playing average football, and he falls smack in the middle of the rankings. Some good throws, some bad, and really reliant on those around him.

Kyler Murray

Last Week: 13 Arizona Cardinals

2022 stats: 991 yards | 65.3 comp % | 5 TD | 2 INT | 5.7 YPA | 48.4 QBR

Murray needs to be better. Averaging 5.7 yards per attempt is ridiculous, especially with a top-end deep threat in Marquise Brown on the perimeter.

Kirk Cousins

Last Week: 15 Minnesota Vikings

2022 stats: 1,031 yards | 63.1 comp % | 6 TD | 4 INT | 6.6 YPA | 45.8 QBR

Cousins is having a decent year. Low YPA, a few too many interceptions, but overall doing enough to keep the offense moving.

Russell Wilson

Last Week: 14 Denver Broncos

2022 stats: 980 yards | 61.1 comp % | 4 TD | 1 INT | 7.5 YPA | 44.5 QBR

Wilson had his best game of the year against the Raiders, but overall, he’s been a huge disappointment in Denver through four contests.

Jared Goff

Last Week: 16 Detroit Lions

2022 stats: 1,126 yards | 60.9 comp % | 11 TD | 3 INT | 7.5 YPA | 67.2 QBR

Goff has done a terrific job in 2022. The Lions are scoring a ton of points. The problem is there defense gives up a touchdown every three seconds.

Trevor Lawrence

Last Week: 11 Jacksonville Jaguars

2022 stats: 946 yards | 65.7 comp % | 8 TD | 2 INT | 7.1 YPA | 58.9 QBR

Lawrence had a rough day in the rain against the Eagles, throwing an interception while losing four fumbles. He needs to secure the ball and continue his ascension.

Matthew Stafford

Last Week: 9 Los Angeles Rams

2022 stats: 1,015 yards | 72.5 comp % | 4 TD | 6 INT | 7.5 YPA | 51.1 QBR

Stafford is leading the league in interceptions. Unless Cooper Kupp gets open, both Stafford and the Rams look lost.

Derek Carr

Last Week: 12 Las Vegas Raiders

2022 stats: 1,038 yards | 61.0 comp % | 6 TD | 4 INT | 6.7 YPA | 55.3 QBR

Carr moved up a few spots, doing a nice job against the tough Broncos defense. That said, the Raiders must push the ball more with Davante Adams.

Joe Burrow

Last Week: 10 Cincinnati Bengals

2022 stats: 1,099 yards | 64.1 comp % | 8 TD | 4 INT | 7.0 YPA | 49.5 QBR

After a hideous season-opener, Burrow has bounced back. The Bengals are 2-1 in those three games, Burrow hasn’t thrown an interception, and the offense is getting right.

Tom Brady

Last Week: 8 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

2022 stats: 1,058 yards | 68.4 comp % | 6 TD | 1 INT | 6.8 YPA | 56.5 QBR

Brady isn’ t the problem for Tampa Bay. The Bucs are beat up, but Brady is still elite as ever.

Aaron Rodgers

Last Week: 7 Green Bay Packers

2022 stats: 935 yards | 69.0 comp % | 6 TD | 3 INT | 7.2 YPA | 43.3 QBR

Rodgers is throwing a ton of short stuff, largely because he doesn’t trust his receivers. As that grows, so will the stats.

Justin Herbert

Last Week: 6 Los Angeles Chargers

2022 stats: 1,250 yards | 66.9 comp % | 9 TD | 2 INT | 7.5 YPA | 71.3 QBR

Herbert is playing with broken rib cartilage, hasn’t had Keenan Allen, and yet he’s leading the league in passing yardage. Absolutely ridiculous.

Lamar Jackson

Last Week: 2 Baltimore Ravens

2022 stats: 893 yards | 65.0 comp % | 11 TD | 4 INT | 7.6 YPA | 72.5 QBR

Jackson has to fall a few spots. He threw for less than 40 yards in the second half of a meltdown against Buffalo, along with two interceptions. Can’t happen for a truly top-tier player.

Jalen Hurts

Last Week: 4 Philadelphia Eagles

2022 stats: 1,120 yards | 66.7 comp % | 4 TD | 2 INT | 9.1 YPA | 60.8 QBR

If I had to vote right now, Hurts is the league MVP. He’s first in YPA, fifth in yardage, 10th in QBR and has 205 rushing yards along with eight total touchdowns.

Josh Allen

Last Week: 1 Buffalo Bills

2022 stats: 1,227 yards | 67.3 comp % | 10 TD | 3 INT | 7.3 YPA | 76.6 QBR

Allen falls one spot because the next guy was insane on Sunday, but Allen also had a pedestrian game in Baltimore. That said, he led a critical comeback, and nobody is a bigger dual threat.

Patrick Mahomes

Last Week: 3 Kansas City Chiefs

2022 stats: 1,106 yards | 66.4 comp % | 11 TD | 2 INT | 7.6 YPA | 82.4 QBR

When Mahomes is at the apex of his abilities, nobody can touch him. While Hurts is the MVP through four games, Mahomes would be my bet to land the award come January.
