Former NBA superstar Michael Jordan has achieved a historic milestone, entering the Forbes 400 list of America’s wealthiest individuals with a staggering net worth of $3 billion.

Jordan’s financial success is a result of not only his legendary basketball career, where he earned $94 million during 15 NBA seasons, but also his lucrative endorsement deals.

His partnership with Nike, in particular, has been immensely profitable, with his annual royalty check from the brand reaching $260 million.

However, Jordan’s most significant financial windfall came when he sold his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets for a remarkable $3 billion, making it the second-highest sale price in NBA history.

This achievement marks the first time a professional athlete has made it onto the prestigious Forbes 400 list. Jordan’s influence extends far beyond basketball, with his Air Jordan brand at Nike being a cultural phenomenon.

The Air Jordan sneaker line, initially released in 1985, continues to generate massive revenue, with $6.6 billion in annual wholesale revenue for the Jordan Brand.

Beyond his basketball career and endorsement deals, Jordan has diversified his investments, including equity stakes in various companies and co-owning a NASCAR Cup Series team, 23XI Racing, with driver Denny Hamlin.
