What Is Metaphor: ReFantazio?

Metaphor: ReFantazio takes place in a fantastical land called the United Kingdom of Euchronia. The king has been assassinated and his successor needs to be chosen. You play as a protagonist, accompanied by your fairy friend Gallica, on a quest to lift a deadly curse from your childhood friend, who happens to be the prince of Euchronia. Along the way, you’ll team up with a number of other characters who will help you in combat.

The game features a stylized interface similar to the recent Persona games. It also has what Atlus is calling an “improved version of the daily life mechanics in Persona.” In other words, “Go on quests, dungeon dive, and hunt for treasures by day. Strengthen relationships, build bonds, and increase virtues by night.” Sounds like it won’t stray too far from the Persona template, but that doesn’t seem like a bad thing. This is one of the 10 games we can’t wait to play in 2024.
