Luka Jovic seals permanent Real Madrid departure
Spanish giants Real Madrid have, on Monday, opted to finally call time on the disappointing Blancos career of a one-time big-money signing.
The player in question? Luka Jovic.
Hitman Jovic is fresh off another frankly abysmal campaign at the Bernabeu, which saw him afforded just one La Liga start, giving rise to a solitary goal across all competitions.
In turn, speculation had inevitably begun to spread of late that the Serbian was primed for a departure from the Spanish capital this summer, with a fresh loan stint on the continent the most likely scenario.
As alluded to above, though, in fact, Real have come to the decision to cut their losses once and for all.
As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Jovic has secured a move to Italy on a permanent basis, linking up with Serie A outfit Fiorentina through the summer of 2024.
His contract with the Viola is also understood to feature the option for an extension of a further two years.
Real Madrid, for their part, will not receive any form of compensation for Jovic. Instead, should Fiorentina move the 24-year-old on at some point down the line, 50% of the fee secured will be owed to Los Merengues.
