Line-ups revealed for historic clash

Aston Villa host Bayern Munich in one of the most eagerly-anticipated Champions League clashes of the week.

Villa famously beat Bayern to lift the European Cup in 1982, but things are much different this time around.

Vincent Kompany heads a juggernaut on the Champions League stage who are looking to win the competition for a seventh time.

Meanwhile, Unai Emery is slowly transforming Villa into a force to be reckoned with in both the Premier and Champions League.

Tonight, they meet in what is sure to be a blistering affair.

Read on to discover how both teams line-up in the Midlands.

Aston Villa team news

Despite being involved in a tough test against Ipswich on Sunday, Villa have unsurprisingly kept much of their team the same.

Emiliano Martinez lines up in goal, with Lucas Digne, Pau Torres, Diego Carlos and Ezri Konsa forming the backline.

Youri Tielemans and Amadou Onana are given the responsibility of holding the fort in midfield.

Morgan Rogers will have a license to roam in a No.10 role, with Jaden Philogene-Bidace and Jacob Ramsey either side of him.

And Ollie Watkins leads the line after hitting form in recent weeks.

Bayern Munich team news

The big question mark for Kompany was going to be whether Harry Kane was fit enough to start, but they have capable back-ups if he was not over an ankle injury from the weekend.

Manuel Neuer guards the goal as per usual for Bayern, with Alphonso Davies, Min-Jae Kim, Dayot Upamecano and Konrad Laimer at the back.

Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlovic sit in defensive midfield, with Michael Olise ahead of them.

Serge Gnabry lines up on the right, with former Arsenal man Serge Gnabry on the right.

And Kane is fit enough to start against his old Premier League rivals.
