Lakers legend puts Victor Wembanyama in Kareem Abdul-Jabbar category

Michael Cooper, a five-time NBA champion with the Lakers, has drawn comparisons between Spurs rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama and the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Cooper highlighted Wembanyama’s exceptional offensive skill set, likening it to Abdul-Jabbar’s ability to score consistently despite defensive pressure.

“He would be a player that I could not guard… Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar] was always gonna get that shot off if he wanted to. But if you double and triple team, Kareem was always looking for that open player. [Wemby] for me is in that category… The young man has a jump shot. Who’s gonna get up there and block his jumper? Nobody,” Cooper said on NBA Legends Lounge, via ClutchPoints.

With his impressive stats this season, Wembanyama has been showcasing his talents, averaging 19.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, and 1.7 assists in 28.9 minutes per game.
