Knicks aim to trade for a big star this offseason

The New York Knicks view the 2024 offseason as an ideal time to trade for a star, according to The Athletic’s Fred Katz. The Knicks have been patient, notably missing out on Donovan Mitchell in 2022.

With Julius Randle potentially becoming a free agent in 2025 and Jalen Brunson due for a raise, their roster will be more expensive next year.

The Knicks have all their future first-round picks, as well as the Dallas Mavericks first-round pick this June and several protected picks from other teams.
