Jrue Holiday on Celtics fans: “Literally insane”
As Jrue Holiday embarks on his journey with the Boston Celtics, the 2021 NBA champion took a moment to express his admiration for the team’s passionate fan base.
During his introductory press conference, Holiday shared his thoughts on the fervor of Celtics fans and the unique atmosphere they create at games.
“They’re a bit crazy,” Holiday acknowledged when asked about Boston fans. “They get rowdy, they get in your defense. Definitely one of the sixth man in the league, if not the best. I love their aggression. I love the environment.”
Holiday emphasized that Celtics fans prioritize the gritty aspects of the game, such as hard work on defense and hustling for loose balls, over flashy plays. His commitment to giving his all on the court aligns with the Boston faithful’s expectations.
“I think they care more about hard work on defense and getting loose balls and stuff like that over maybe windmill dunks and things of that nature. Again, that’s the type of guy I am. Ten toes to the ground and I’m going to push and grind as hard as I can,” he said.
“The fans are literally insane,” Holiday concluded, expressing his pride in joining the Celtics and embracing the passionate support he’ll receive from the dedicated fan base.
