Joel Embiid reveals key to Tyrese Maxey’s success

Eclipsing his career-high of 20.3 points per game from last season, Tyrese Maxey is on a meteoric rise, delivering standout performances.

In a recent clash against the Pacers, the 76ers’ 23-year-old point guard dazzled with a career-best 50 points, pushing his season average to an impressive 28.6 points per game.

Joel Embiid, Maxey’s superstar teammate, attributes the guard’s surge to a pivotal factor—his collaboration with renowned skills coach Drew Hanlen.

“If I got to be honest, he probably would have taken this leap a year ago, 2 years ago because I’ve been telling him to work out with Drew [Hanlen] for a long time,” the reigning said, via ClutchPoints.

Expressing his contentment with Maxey’s decision to engage in training sessions with Hanlen, Embiid emphasized Maxey’s unparalleled work ethic, labeling him as “the hardest working person I’ve ever been around.”

He further conveyed his belief in Maxey’s enduring impact on the franchise, asserting, “He’s gonna be here for a long time, and like I said, he’s the franchise.”
