Joel Embiid is one of the top candidates to be named the MVP this season. The 29-year-old Cameroonian superstar says that he is no longer focused on the individual award.

He claims that he is thinking about the playoffs. The 76ers have already clinched their spot in postseason. Philadelphia is currently third in the Eastern Conference.

Via Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer:

“It’s all about the playoffs,” the MVP frontrunner said. “Being in the MVP race, I told you, I don’t care. If I win, good. If I don’t, it’s whatever. That’s not where my focus is.”

This season Embiid is averaging league-high 33.3 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 34.7 minutes per game.
