James Bouknight receives 12-month probation for DWI conviction

Former Charlotte Hornets guard James Bouknight has been sentenced to probation after being found guilty of impaired driving, according to court records in Mecklenburg County as reported by Andrew McMillan of wsoctv.com.

Bouknight’s legal trouble stems from an incident in October 2022 when he was discovered unconscious in a parking area blocking traffic on East Brooklyn Village Avenue by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

As part of his sentence, Bouknight will be on unsupervised probation for 12 months and must complete 24 hours of community service within 90 days, which could be waived with proof of inpatient treatment for substance abuse.
