How Trina McGee Is Tuning Out Critics After Sharing Pregnancy at 54

Trina McGee isn’t paying attention to any of the noise. 

After announcing she is pregnant at 54 with her and husband Marcello Thurford‘s first baby together, the Boy Meets World alum opened up about how tuning out the world has allowed her to live in the moment and celebrate her news. 

“Just sheer joy, sheer joy, and I don’t partake in any of the negativity anybody has to say about it,” she told Entertainment Tonight in an interview published June 4. “I am so happy. I have been blessed, and that’s it. And all I’m concerned about—I only have one job now—is to have this baby, and that’s what I’m about.”

And for Trina—who is also mom to Ramia, 31, Langston, 29, with ex-husband, Courtland Davis and Ezra, 25, from a previous relationship—that includes carefully selecting what sort of media and content she wishes to consume. 

“The number one thing for me is to not partake in any stress and stay away from negativity as much as I can,” she explained. “And that pertains to what I put on TV, what I look at on my phone. There’s so much drama and violence and negativity out there as soon as you turn on the screen. I really want to be pointed when I turn on the screen. Because stress, for me, is the biggest factor.”
